Since the system is a but different of nthe usual, we will have to take babysteps to create the chars. The first one is to choose the race. As I said before, I'm ok as long as it's human and not a pict. So make your choice: cimmerian, aesir, stygian, zamoran, aquilonian, or anything else.

Since this game is to be heroic, I'l use a different way to calculate the caracteristics

Both will roll 2d6+6 to:
St
Con
Siz
Dex
Int
Pow
Carisma
Priest: add 2 points to Power
Mr Handy, add 2 points to Carisma

Both choose names.
To the zamoran people the roma names are the best.

To the Aquilonian, latin names

Since your upring is civilized, please select a career:
Warrior, thief, scolar, sailor, priest, hunter, physician, merchant, entertainer, beast handler.
An hint: you will start as soldiers in a mercenary army, but I can always integrate a more intelectual character even if it's more dificult.

conceal=dex+pow
deceit: int+char
infl= char x 2
insigth= int+pow
locale= int x 2
willpower= pow x 2

Priest: please choose 3 from the following professional skills:
acrobatics, disguise, oratory, musicianship, seduction, sleigth, streetwise

Mr Handy choose 3 of the following professional skills:
craft, engineering, gambling, lore (military history), lore (tactics), survival

You will both divide 100 points betwee those professional skills and the following skills:
Priest: athletics, brawn, dance, deceit, influence, insigth, sing
Mr Handy: athletics, brawn, endurance, evade, unarmed, combat style

Deceit is to cheat, bluff (kind of fast talk)
Influence is the hability to persuade others
Insigth is the hability to read others verbal and non verbal behaviour
Locale is the knowledge of local history, fauna, flora, politics (only works from the land you came)

I'll choose craft, lore (tactics), and survival.

Before I distribute my points, what exactly is combat style? Is that skill with a weapon? Do these skills have base levels, or are we adding our points to zero? If so, they won't get very high.

Ok, I totally forgot about that.
You both start with a basic combat style of str+dex. But only Mr Handy can put now more points from the 100 (and don't worry: you will both receive extra points later).

A combat style is a bit more complex. The basic combat style (st+dex) is what any person can do: take a sword/knife/stick and defend itself. But a professional warrior can choose a particular type of combat style: professional legionary, city state phalangite, levied archer, skirmisher, street thug, town militia. Each one gets advantages at a kind of figthing and specializes in a choice of weapons (a legionary uses a shield, a short sword, a javelin and a dagger).

Legionary sounds like something that would be more likely for an Aquilonian. What weapons do the other combat styles use? Also, what are the base levels for the other skills you've listed?

For your char, a levied archer, skirmisher, street thug or town militia make more sense.
Archer: bow and knife.
Skirmisher: javelin, bow, knife
Street thug: knife, short sword, longsword
Town militia: shield, spear, sword
Craft:18
Lore 20
Survival: 26

I'll be town militia. What are the base skill levels for the other skills (athletics, brawn, endurance, evade, and unarmed)?

Athletics: 20
Brawn: 22
Endurance: 28
Evade: 16
Unharmed: 20

Okay, I'll allocate my 100 points as follows:
Combat style: 20 + 40 = 60
Craft: 18 + 10 = 28
Lore(Tactics): 20 + 10 = 30
Survival: 26 + 5 = 31
Athletics: 20 + 10 = 30
Endurance 28 + 10 = 38
Evade: 16 + 15 = 31
