Character Concepts

Despite racing against the rain on your way northwards, the storm finally caught up with you in earnest and with it the night has fallen, abyssal black and riven by lightning. Conditions on the rain-swept road force your speed down to a virtual crawl so that your head-lamps can pierce the gloom and keep you on the path. The only thing certain now is that the weather behind you is worse than that which surrounds you, driving you onwards. What should have been an eventless journey has become something dangerous and unpredictable....

Character Concepts

Post by Priest »

Please put your concepts here. A further topic will be created for your finished characters.

Concepts should be simple. Name, occupation and reason for being in the car. Once we have those we can move to character creation 7th edition style, and those concepts can be refined.

Luther Auttenberg - 39 - Insurance Claims Investigator for the Hodges & Finn Insurance Company

A senior claims investigator at a well known regional insurance company, Luther brings to his profession a teutonic fastidiousness and critical eye that has afforded him great success in his career. A perennial bachelor, he has become one of the company's most reliable field agents. Unfortunately his zeal for his work has caused him to accumulate an over-abundance of vacation hours of which he now being forced by his superiors to spend.

Begrudgingly, he has taken to the countryside for some 'mandated relaxation'.

Lance Monroe - 45 - Author of short Western stories for pulp magazines

A moderately successful writer of Westerns, Monroe is suffering from writers block. His agent suggested a short break with a change of scenery might help, and so Monroe has left Arkham for a jaunt into the countryside. The hike out into the country seemed like a good idea at the time, but soon Monroe decided it wasn't for him so he tried hitchhiking and luckily for him soon got a ride.

As a way to put Luther in Thomas' car I'll add this addendum:

Luther's own automobile, a meticulously maintained 1922 Lancia Lambda in Cherry Red, has suffered a blowout and as such he is forced to make his way back to town by hitchhiking.

Excellent, now all we need is for Crow to get his head around his concept.

Tobias O'Connel - 29

Tobias is a young attorney, heading near Arkham for a case he was offered, revolving around a mysterious murder, one that could almost not be explained to how it was done. When he had arrived in a nearby town, his car broke down and he was vehicle less. At a rest stop, he met a man who was on his way to Arkham and asked if he could hitch a ride.

(Posted on behalf of Barty Carter)
Barrington (Barty) Carter-Smythe has worked as an agent, researcher and freelance collector for various individuals and museums around Great Britain and Europe for many years.....Serving as an officer during the Great War he was wounded quite severely, and although he was able to return to field duty, the war ended shortly after he returned to his regiment
He is now semi retired due to the effects, both physical and phsycological of his wound.
While recovering in a sanitorium/hospital in Flanders,he met a Doctor from America, with whom he struck up a friendship.
with little now to occupy his time he is travelling to a small town,North of Arkham to fullfill his promise to visit the doctor,in hope, not only of renewing their friendship, but perhaps of some receiving further help with his phsycological health

Barty is 56 years old
