Welcome to the 7th Ed

Despite racing against the rain on your way northwards, the storm finally caught up with you in earnest and with it the night has fallen, abyssal black and riven by lightning. Conditions on the rain-swept road force your speed down to a virtual crawl so that your head-lamps can pierce the gloom and keep you on the path. The only thing certain now is that the weather behind you is worse than that which surrounds you, driving you onwards. What should have been an eventless journey has become something dangerous and unpredictable....

Dead Light (7th ed)

A 1920s Call of Cthulhu encounter set north of Arkham, in which the investigators stray into the hunting grounds of a newly unleashed terror from beyond, and may not live to see the morning.

A classic era adventure for the new 7th edition Rules, for which the quickstart can be downloaded for free at,

2 – 5 investigators required. Any occupation, male or female. The only stipulation is that there is a reason for them all to be travelling at night somewhere north of Arkham in their backstory.

So far it would seem that we have our five potential players;
Vertigoke
Crow the Almighty
Vlad
jbibblesworth
Barty Carter

I recognise that all of you are relatively new to CoC and PbP, but as far as the new 7th edition rules are concerned so am I so I will take it slowly.
First each of you needs to look at the rules and get a bit familiar with them, overall they arent that different but just slightly more subtle. Character creation is simpler in many ways and the new 'pushing' system may introduce a new element to CoC making skills easier to use.
Once you have a chance think about your characters and provide them with some sort of concept. Eg who they are, what their occupation is and why you think they may be in the car. This does not need to be huge or constricting, and be able to be flexible so that you might alter the details in order to fit with the others concepts.
Once this is done we will move to the Character Creation.
We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.

I have been asked what the plot might be. Simple the plot is;

All you need for the present is an idea of who you are, what you do for a living, and a reason for being in that car.
We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.
