I don't think I'd still be impersonating a Medical Examiner; that was more of a one-time cover for the original case, and it wouldn't hold up long term with only a middling First Aid skill and no points in Biology or Medicine. I'm thinking she'd be a counterterrorism specialist, possibly with the FBI.

A poster on the wall, Christie Reese is announcing a gig tonight. It seems that Marcus had decided they stop here before continuing on to Vegas in the morning. The visit to the cabin up in Bodie had been a nice off-the-grid experience.
They were not the only ones here, though. A dozen or so motorbikes are lined up outside the bar and grill truck stop.

Marcus frowns at the cellphone, it's been a while since he had used one for anything but checking messages. To see Mel use it like it was an extension of her arm unsettled him a little. Kat was quieter, he appreciated that much and she seemed to sense it. He pulls the Jeep into a empty bay and grabs his kitbag from the open rear compartment.
"I'm goin' check into the motel and grab a shower to freshen up mi amigos." He gestures at the biker bar, "A little rough around the edges maybe, but if they have something cold on tap then I'm all over that place later. Do you want to grab a bite and a beer say in around an hour?" The voice is still the same, charming grin still in place but Marcus seems to have withdrawn into himself and there is no real passion or conviction with his words. It's almost as if he is going through the motions...

Kathryn Petersen collects her suitcase and gets out of the jeep, shaking her head at it. What, Marcus couldn't have found a ride that sticks out more? she thinks. He always was flashy, but you'd think he'd have learned the value of blending in by now. Well, it'll be nice to get a chance to say goodbye to Tony at last, sort of. And it's great to be back with old friends. I'm looking forward to that security conference in Vegas too; it's right up my alley. She glances back at Melinda. "Do you want to split a room with me, or would you rather have your own?" she asks.
As she asks Melinda about the rooms, an older black gentleman comes out from the corner room. "...job with the windows. They're spotless" When he passes Kat and Mel he nods and says, "Miss." The man walks past intent to reach the bar from the looks of it.
