"I can confidently say this stuff is a bloody mess," announced Alyssa. "Shall we take a peek into the pit?"

"Okay, but let's not climb down there just yet," says Eddie. He readies his shotgun and peers down into the pit when Alyssa shines her light down it.

As you shine your lights down in the pit, you can see the small damage to the walls about 25 feet down. The bottom you can estimate is about 50 feet down. You can see with your lights there are 3 large tunnels leading out of the pit at the bottom. There was very little damage to the walls from the dynamite. There is a pile of fleshy looking goo at the bottom.

"If we have to go down there," says Eddie, "we'll need to use the mechanism they set up to lower people down into the pit. Those people were helpless, but at least we'll be armed. On the other hand, it might be better to just collapse or fill in the pit, as long as this is the only way in or out of it. Then we don't have to expose ourselves to danger."

"I'm in favor of collapsing the pit," Norman says a bit too quickly.

"How do we collapse the pit?" asked Alyssa.

"I don't know," says Eddie. "Dropping the dynamite down the pit didn't do the trick. Maybe if we placed dynamite in the right places, we could cause a cave-in that would fill the pit with rubble, but I'm no engineer. We don't have much of it left, so we'd have to be sure we knew what we were doing."

Alyssa held up her hand."I need privacy, if you all know what I mean."

She marched back to the pool.

The cave is eerily quiet except for your voices and a dripping sound in the moist cave.

Eddie politely turns his back. He has come to trust the brilliance of Alyssa's ideas, but he wishes she wouldn't place herself in danger. "Please, be careful," he says.

Richard follows Alyssa, keeping watch. Though he won't admit it he's come to trust her ideas.

"Promise I won't peek." It's hard to tell if he's being honest.

"My 'walk of shame' needs be unaccompanied, thank you, Mr. Rahl."

keeper,Once at the pool she'll swim back to the quarry.

Alyssa disappears around the corner of the small tunnel, leaving the 3 of you in the chamber looking awkwardly at each other.

Alyssa Only,you go into the pool and swim back to the quarry, having made the swim before it isn't that difficult. Make a swim *2 check.

Eddie waits for Alyssa to return, listening for any sign of trouble.

Alyssa Only,you make it out of the tunnel and surface outside in the quarry. It is now dark outside, the sun has gone down, and the water looks pitch black.

The wait for Alyssa starts to drag out and become uncomfortable as the 3 men stand around waiting for the 1 lady to return.
