I have decided I'm going to take this module to print via Kickstarter. So when we are done I'd love feedback on how to make this better. I've already decided to change a few things. I'm really enjoying it, and I hope you guys are as well. If you'd like your name in the book as a playtester, respond to this thread.

Here is a rough draft of the cover art for this. And uh, don't read anything into it.

Oh congrats. I loved playing it, and am confident other groups will as well. I hope after we're done you'll be willing to go into what you feel needs changing. I imagine it won't follow on from The Haunting directly, but the plot will be introduced somehow else?

It seems like a scenario that with a little tinkering could work for different time periods as well.

Yes, I think the basic hook will be the statue was stolen from a museum and the Players are hired to track it down.

I have to define Phil a bit better, but was going to leave the Reverend pretty much as is. In the original Haunting he is just left out. Escaped no one knows what happened to him. I might suggest this is him.

This could probably work in other time periods. I'm kinda partial to the 20's.

I'll probably do a full live play through before I finish it up, but I think it will be pretty good overall.

Thanks.

"A Star on the Shore" is going into print, licensed by Chaosium and eventually sold on their website. :D

I have the contract at home, I think its very fair and I'll be signing it and returning it. I did another playtest run Saturday and their solution to the problem, was interesting. A full TPK, but they did defeat the module.

But super excited, since it's licensed, it will only be coming out as 7th edition, but wanted to share.

I need what names you want listed in the book for playtesting. I don't mind nicknames, or real names, up to you.

Congratulations! The new Chaosium is much better than the old one from what I hear.

My name is Jonathan Bagelman.

I'd guessed you are Jewish, Mr. Handy. Remember that time in Forbidden Journey with the photo of a sign with Hebrew script, and you recognised it as such?

Anyway, very cool, Ben. I'm Brett Darby.

Yes, that's right. I learned Hebrew in school, but it's been almost 25 years since I've used it, so I'm very rusty.

A little wd-40 will sometimes get rid of that rust. sometimes.

So sorry I missed this! Congratulations. It was a very nice scenario. Any change they might let you publish a reimagined Haunting? I quite enjoyed the twists in that one.

If you're still looking for names, D.M. is fine for me. My initials, and they seem appropriate for this particular hobby. ;)

I doubt they would want me to do that. I've got a whole slew of other ideas lined up.

Kickstarter was delayed for this because they want to see the whole thing for approval first. So I am frantacly putting everything together in a readable format so they can give it the OK first.

So probably be Jan 2nd for launch day.

Sweet!

I actually started working on adapting The Haunting as a solo scenario (no Keeper required) years ago, but I didn't get very far.

Hey guys, so I was hoping to bounce some ideas off of you since you have been through 95% of this.

I'm making some changes to the mod because either its tough to put into a module to fit in the rules, or I didn't like how it played out and wanted to change it up a bit.

I'm changing the statue to just 2' by 1'. It will actually be down in the lower tunnels in the pit with the creature. This will prevent the first trip into the temple ending with we found it, lets get the hell out of town scenario. Which has happened in play tests. The larger one will still be there. They work as a pair. The smaller one had disappeared long ago, found and was being returned. It was in Boston at the Chapel of Contemplation when the police raided it and it was lost. Your discovery of the hidden basement allowed Phil to go retrieve it and bring about his prophecy.

Speaking of which, what good is a prophecy if no one knows what it is. So I've been doing some research on Cthovian and come up with the following:

Ep’hai Gof’nn Kadishtu’agl Ulnsll’ha Cthulhu Na’fhtagn ep’Yarnog

This will be carved on the temple wall.
It roughly translates as: "When my Children are Aligned and call to him, Cthulhu will awaken and his time will come."

You didn't find it, but I have this in the town somewhere. It falls into the whole story of what is taking place and why.

FYI, I got approval from Chaosium for my module. Everything is set, I'll be launching my Kickstarter on Jan. 2nd at 10 AM CST.

I have the KS video up on my facebok page here
