"Oh! it's only Scott," says Alyssa, "I'm mightily relieved." She opens the secret door, which Eddie crawled through, and if he is not on the other side hisses, "Eddie!"

"We never said any such thing," says Eddie. "Are you talking about what Scott said about looking for a friend who was into the occult? I think he was making that up. We came here to investigate a mystery surrounding a statue that was stolen and to track down a rather nasty fellow named Phil, who seems to be part of the cult. Believe me, he's no friend of ours."

Eddie projects plenty of sincerity.

Eddie,Colonel Hall listens intently, "Why the hell didn't you say so to begin with. I tell you what let me go lock up the hall and I'll join you, give me five minutes." He turns and runs up the stairs with a quick step for someone middle aged.

The Rest of you,Scott has now joined in with the rest of you. You whisper down the hall, but see no sign of him or anything. Occasionally you will hear what you think is talking but it has a very sinister sound to it.

"I think Scott didn't know who to trust," says Eddie. "I'll go let my friends at the other end of the tunnel know while you're getting ready, Colonel." When Colonel Hall goes upstairs, Eddie crawls back down the tunnel, using the flashlight to light his way.

As everyone looks down the tunnel, eventually you see a light shining your way. It moves towards you until finally Eddie comes out of the small tunnel.

"The other end of the tunnel comes out in Colonel Hall's basement," says Eddie. "Moving the board set off an alarm, and he came down there with a shotgun. He thought I was one of the cultists and was about to shoot me, but I managed to convince him we're on the same side. It seems he got the mistaken impression from what Scott told him about looking for a friend who was into the occult. Once he locks up, he'll come and join us."

Richard says "So are we convinced he is on our side and not tipping the cultist off to our presence?"

Eddie, as you climb out of the tunnel you notice Scott has joined your group.

And now you hear more footsteps in the basement above you.

Eddie nods. "Quick, back down the tunnel," he whispers, and he gets down on his hands and knees, entering the tunnel to lead the way.

"What, all of us?" asks Alyssa. She hears the footsteps above and, quashing any doubts she may have, follows Eddie into the secret tunnel. "Does this colonel of yours serve hot drinks, Eddie? 'cos I'd wish for a cup of tea," she says wistfully, thinking about a steaming cup and an end to damp tunnels.

Aunt Loosa watches as Alyssa follows Eddie down the tunnel Oh my she thinks to herself I'm not sure if my old joints and bones will cope with that she looks at the other tunnels and chooses to take the one less travelled, she moves deep into the tunnel, hiding the darkness.

Norman follows Alyssa and Eddie into the the presumed safety of the tunnel.

"I hope so, Alyssa," Eddie replies, "but I'll settle for all of us being safe there. We need to close the secret tunnel behind us and hope the cultists don't find it."

As you hide and close the door, some of you ducking down one of the 2 tunnels, you see the hatch open. Someone in a robe descends the ladder shutting the hatch behind him.

Richard waits for everyone else to enter the tunnel then enters behind them and closes the secret door

When you shut the door you notice a small hole drilled through that lets you see into the room.

"Eddie, Aunt Loosa's old joints couldn't make it inside, she chose to hide inside one of those disused tunnels instead. Mr. Rahl," says Alyssa to Richard very, very quietly, "what do you see? Who's there?"

You see the person in the robe lights a torch and then heads down the corridor that you have determined as being the most traveled.

Those in the small tunnel hear something behind you when you see a 50'sh aged man carrying a small bag. "What's going on?" he whispers.
