IC: Ch. 9b: Lost Friends (Norman, Richard, Scott)

Norman says goodbye to Alyssa and get a goodbye kiss. Trying to concentrate he turns and walks back the way he came as best he can. 50 yards, nothing, 100 yards nothing, finally up ahead breaking in the fog you see Richard on the ground, his arms still trying to fight off whatever it was that came at you earlier.

He does not look in a good way.

As you approach Richard and kneel down to help him you see the fog thinning considerably. You see shadowy forms moving through the fog towards you. These look much more solid than the ghost spirits you saw earlier.

[Silver Priest]

"Richard! It's Norman." He leans down and tries to bring his friend back to awareness. "We need to get out of... oh dear."

Seeing the approaching forms, Norman tries to lift or drag the man with him back to the mausoleum.

Richard doesn't seem to want to move, but you get him to his feet and he will follow you. With the fog dying down it is much easier to find your way.

You know which way back to the mausoleum the others went in. But the figures, you can now see clearly, are closing in. There are about a dozen men wearing black robes, all armed with swords.

They start to run at you.

Norman has no intention of leading the men back to Alyssa or Eddie. But panic takes over the bookish man, and his intentions quickly cease to matter.

"Run Richard!" He grabs the man's hand and attempts to run back to the mausoleum and get inside before the horrid cult.

Richard starts to come out of his antics about that time, dirt and sweat streaming down his face. The realization of a half dozen cultists with swords gets him to his feet and he follows you. You run as fast as you can, and with a quick glance over your shoulder you see that the cultist gave up the chase and are now pursuing at a walk. Still coming but slowly.

With the fog disapating you can find the grave house you were looking for. Richard in tow right behind you.

Norman attempts to open the door. If it's locked, he begins to pound on it and scream.

You pull on the door and it opens. You look back and the cultists can now see your means of escape and begin to run towards you again.

You go into the dark tomb and yank open the door to the way below. You see your friends still there waiting for you. Richard breathing had behind you says, "thank God."
