Scene Three. The Maritime East Shipping Agents

The disappearance of a New York socialite might, on an ordinary day, simply become the subject of gossip column nattering and speculation.
This, though, is no ordinary day. Veronica Chadwick’s disappearance is but a single link in a chain of events that envelops the investigators in a web of terror and madness that might end with their deaths – or might never end at all…

"Thank you, it was excellent," says Tony to Bepe. He finishes up the last of his pasta and then stands. "Yeah, let's get to the hotel."

"We can call Mrs. Chadwick from the hotel to fill her in and ask her our questions, if it's not too late at night," says Tony, unable to think of any better ideas.

Professor Krugman: I instructed the petulant fellow at the Agency to make immediate arrangements for us. We should return to him first thing in the morning. He said it might be possible for us to fly to San Francisco. If we need to do that in order to catch the earliest available ship then we should do so. I'd suggest that you all make sure you have every thing you need, as we may need to leave fast. Did anyone notice what time the Agency opens in the mornings?
