5 AM, west of Innsmouth.
Sixteen soldiers, some civilians and one woman are walking as silent as possible in the frozen Manuxet river. The only sound they hear is the wind. In the narrow gorge, it’s impossible to see the city. They all know their objectives: the center of a cult, and the house the leaders. Nobody knows exactly why the attack. Some say it’s because the locals are smuggling liquor, others that they are a net of Bolshevik spies. Nobody knows for certain. Even more strange, is the presence of a woman here. It seems she is a journalist, but why not send a man. Near bridge, one group goes for the mansion and another to the church.

Alyssa Valentine walks with the Marines towards the Marsh Mansion, moving stealthily, her head held high. She is sure that the articles she had written following her last visit to Innsmouth and the evidence she had brought back are what prompted this raid, and now she has the astounding opportunity to be here to see all of her hard work finally bearing fruit and justice being done - and even to help make it happen. And afterwards, she would have an even greater story to tell. Her knowledge of Innsmouth was plenty to justify including her on this mission. She knows that her father must be proud of her - but also worried sick. This is the closest she could possibly come to going off to war, and she is counting on the Marines to keep her safe.

Private First class George Bullseye Williams keeps his eyes peeled for trouble. He's not particularly bothered by the woman's presence. As far as he's concerned, she's made a dumb decision but it's hers to make. Part of him hopes she'll tear her dress in an attractive manner but mostly he figures that she'll either be smart enough to avoid getting killed or dumb enough to die without getting in their way.

The group is walking and suddenly you find a group of people (5). They seem to be taking some prisoner who is screaming . Both group are frozen for a minute, and then your comander orders you to attack. But you all know that you cannot use any fireweapon until you reach the objective, so, you will have to use bayonets and knifes.

Patrick doesn't waste any time. He's got a lot of pent-up frustrations anyway, what with being a redhead and all. So he jumps into action and attacks the nearest fellow from the other group (not the one screaming). His attack is clumsy and telegraphed and he misses completely.

Alyssa grips her fighting knife with fierce determination as she advances on one of the five people who is trying to hold onto the prisoner. She stabs the kidnapper, causing a significant wound.

Patrick wiped his knife on the corpse's pants leg, and nodded to the commander putting his knife back in its holster. His attention swayed slightly with the sound of gunfire, but he shrugged it off when he was certain whoever was shooting weren't shooting at them. He walked over to the prisoner and said quietly, "Do you understand English, lad?"

You look at the men... and he doesn't has a face. You can see that he has a mouth, nose, eyes, but there is a huge membrane of skin that cover the entire face, and he isn't able to breath properly. Make a sanity roll.

"Damn it, Jim! I'm a soldier, not a doctor!" Patrick said with his best Dr. Bones McCoy imitation. He shrugged and went to work on the man's face, grimacing with distaste - although one could not really tell if that was because it was disgusting, or because he thought it was a waste of time. Patrick stopped and stepped back, shaking his head, "I've got no idea what to do with this poor sap."

You continue to hear several shots. You continue in the direction of your objective. All you see are very old houses, that look sinister. But you don't see anyone anymore. You arrive at the Marsh Mansion when the sun is starting to appear on the horizont. You see a wall and a gate; it's about 10 meters from the gate until the house. The house is dark and silent.
Far away, you hear the shots and finally an explosion.

Patrick complies with a quick, "Yes sir!" But as he's putting the man near another house, he's muttering, "Shoulda just put a quick knife to the base of the skull, no pain, no fuss."

He turns toward the sound of gunfire and the explosion. "Aw man, they're having all the fun!" he says.

Inside you see a great hall, dark, with lot's of furniture. It must be used as a dining room, since there is a long table, with several chairs. At the end, there is a door on the left side, and a stair to the upper floor;Someone from the upper floor starts shooting to you.

Patrick doesn't see anything. His combat training has kicked in. He assessed from the sounds of the gunfire that it was coming from above, so quickly he sought out cover to get him out of harm's way. His eyes went to the table and he started sprinting for it. He would put himself underneath, where he'd be considerably safer than standing out in the open like he was.

Alyssa stops and puts up her hands. "Whoa, easy there," she says. "Here, let me see if I can help." She competently bandages the wounded man, repairing a little of the damage. "There was an old fishy woman in the room we tried, but she attacked me with her claws and I had to put her down."

You take your prisoners outside of the mansion. With the morning you see the sun. The village is full of soldiers and the bay with ships. You see that all the locals are been herd to trucks. But some, the normal looking are treated a bit more nicer than the others: they seem passive and in a certain way, happy. The ones with a strange looking don't hide the hate. The ones who hardly seem to be human, are put in different trucks. You still hear an ocasional gunshot, and there is talk about heavy figthing in the port, but the situation seems controlled.
An officer came to talk with you, he says its very important.

OOC: Very well, this scenario is finished. I'm just waiting that we finish the other to write the epilogue. I hope you liked, and thanks for your patience.
