Chit-Chat

There has been no word from a Nazi-run covalescent home in the Nazi-controlled south of France that is owned and operated by a subsidiary company controlled by long-serving members of the Nazi party as part of their aims to expand onto the conquered lands. There's probably nothing to worry about. There are a few people scheduled to arrive today anyway. They'll soon get to the bottom of it.

I only have the 5th Ed.
I've edited Herman to improve his sanity and given him a weak constitution instead. I think soldiers of his type usually used a rifle rather than a machine pistol. He would have skill at bayoneting too but what would that be - I don't have anything suitable in my rule book. I have a few points left to spend in this. Does Herman get a special bonus? If so, can you choose one for me?

I'd probably have either a Walther P38 (9mm automatic) or a Walther PPK pistol (.32 automatic). The PPK is smaller and more concealable, so that might be a better fit. I'd need identity documents and the like both for my cover and for my real identity (in case I need to break cover and use my official clout).

The place is quite suspicious. They may do body searches, especially as they are dealing with the insane and even pens may be confiscated by those not meant to be there. A handgun would be a pretty big risk unless very well hidden as part of something else. Perhaps inside the lining / box of a suitcase? The identity documents would need to be similarly concealed. Happy to work with on you on how to get what you need.

Hiding them inside the lining or box of a suitcase sounds good to me. I'm sure the Abwehr has experts on such concealment.

I'll be away at conventions October 31-November 3 and November 8-10, so I probably won't be able to post then. I'm not sure if I'll even be able to post between them, as I work during the week and will have little time to catch up, though I am off November 11.

I'm catching up now, but I'll be going to bed in less than an hour and won't have another chance to post until late on Sunday after the second convention.

Okay now Mr. Handy is back we can look at starting. It'll be a small tight-knit group but that may be for the best.

Sorry, I was waiting for you to do a preliminary post to simply establish that your character is there and what he's doing as the truck arrives. I'll move on without that.

Maybe select the character's face and use that as the image separate from the rest of the uniform?

It would probably be easier for me to just find an alternative picture of him in civilian clothes. I should have time to do that this weekend.

Not really, no. Of course, the guy with his face chewed off wasn't expecting it either! :o

*head desk, head desk, head desk*

I responded with a post to the current thread about a month ago but for some reason it didn't upload. I imagine it must've been some fault with my browser as it's not the web-site.

I had wondered why it wasn't flashing blue with new responses!

I am so sorry.

I will be away to a trip in Europe from the 21 to 27 with a limited internet access and not much time.
I hope I'll have time to post here and there.
