Herman nods silently and, with his rifle ready, he pushes the door open again with his toe.

Jean gurds the rear, in case someone will come from the lounge and the vent while Herman opens the ajar door.

The door remains closed. The handle moves so it's not locked but there's something heavy pressed against it from the other side. Heavy and unyielding. A barricade, perhaps? They can hear whimpering coming from the other side in response to them turning the handle.

Erich raps softly on the door. "It's okay, we're friends," he says to whoever is on the other side.

Herman raises his eyebrows quizatively at the others as he listens for a response from the other side.

The whimpering cuts off abruptly, and a faint whispering can be heard.
Listen,"I'm not them ... I'm not ... Not even here ... they can't ... can't make...."
Then a gun shot resounds through the house and the mutterings stop.

Erich's hearing has never been sharper. As soon as he hears the gunshot, he flings open the door, hoping he can save the person who has just shot himself before he dies. However, he doubts he'll be in time.

Erich finds himself in the officer's toilets and sees an officer sitting on the floor, slumped against the porcelain with blood and gray matter spattered on the wall behind him and a loose gun on the floor beside him. He's quite clearly dead. His red-rimmed eyes also reveals that he's been in tears for quite a while as do the crusted tears on his cheeks.

Oh... have mercy.
Jean says but he must take the pistol if he wish to live longer then the man before him. May I take the gun?
He asks the two Germans

"That's up to Herman," says Erich. He looks through the dead man's pockets for identification or anything else that may shed some light on what's going on here.

"Cor blimey, totally bonkers - and then he shot himself" Herman murmurs to himself. He shrugs, "Help yourself Jean, more guns the better I reckon." He takes a quick look in the cubicles and around the room.

Jean grabs up the pistol. The rest of the cubicles are empty though one of them smells strongly of vomit and has change and a crumpled receipt in the bottom, as though someone had tried to flush them away. The man's pockets contains nothing, which is odd in and of itself.

"Odd," says Erich. "This man had no identity papers, nor anything else for that matter."

Herman looks to see what rank the officer was - was he part of the security team that Herman was to join. He pockets the change and scans the receipt. And then washes his hands!

The receipt is for printer ink. The man's fingers are stained with ink. He wears a fancy suit rather than a uniform and has no holster for the gun. He must have picked it off of somebody else.

Herman scratches his head. "this receipt is just for ink. What was he doing with a load of ink when you'd have thought he'd 'ave more important thing to worry about - like staying alive! Do you think they'd have a press here for some reason?"

"I suppose it's possible," says Erich. "There are shady things happening here, that's for certain. Maybe they're also running some sort of counterfeiting operation. Of course, in the end, he threw it away. I guess considering what's happening he didn't consider it important any more, or he wanted to get rid of it."
