Study Room - Harrison ONLY

In the small room, you sit down and notice what could be blood stains on the floor. This room was used for a lot of things, but a study probably wasn't one of them. You notice a knob on the wall.
.
When you sit down to go to work, where do you want to start?

Harrison puts down his bag on the table, along with the whiskey and the cigarettes. As he is taking out his notes and the book, he notices both the blood stains and the knob.

He lifts a smoke and as he inhales he finds himself staring intently at the blood stains, the scene in the basement appearing before his mind's eye again. Michael's body on the floor, bleeding out into the soil...

He snaps to as the cigarette burns his fingers. He crushes the butt and rubs his eyes, blinking heavily as he stares at the book and then at the knob on the wall.

Harrison takes off his coat, tenderly moves his flayed arms, stretching the slowly healing skin and opens the Book of Eibon on the final chapters. He puts his notes next to the book and looks for the passage where Eibon mentions that he found some way to reverse the immortality spell.

He can't seem to stay focused however, and looks at the knob in the wall again. He fills his glass with scotch, his eyes fixed on the knob as he drinks and he gets up, putting his hand on it and tries to open whatever it is attached to.

As you turn the knob the lights change to dark with a spotlight on the chair you were in. It can flip to about 4 settings from bright light, dim, spot light and complete darkness.

"Oh.", Harrison says dryly, suddenly realising the origin of the blood stains.

He turns the light back to normal and resumes his perusal of the book's final chapters.

OOC:   which chapter are you specifically going to study? Then make a Latin check + 20%. And a library use check.

Latin 30+20=50%,[dice]0[/dice]
Library Use 58%,[dice]1[/dice]

Harrison takes his notes on chapter 20 and 21, focusing on the chapter in which Eibon mention his method to counter "something". If that chapter would prove too damaged, he'll take chapter 21.

As you study the script it is smudged, and damaged, but with a lot of effort it looks like he is talking about his Shield of the Great Old Ones spell. The section that lists where the counterspell would be is completely damaged, but you see a very small note you passed over before in the margin of where the counter would be, saying that he will add it to the original spell as well.

With a big "Aha!" Harrison skims back to the fourth chapter and the explanation of the Dei Scutum spell. Some afterthought leaves him wondering where he could get 20 virgins without attracting too much attentions, but he quickly dismisses it.

Lucky for you, no virgins are required for the counter-spell. Only your own blood.

It takes a couple hours for you to get through all of this, but when its done, you have:

'Dei Scutum Antiqua'
tr. Shield of the Ancient God
Counter-spell: To cast the counter spell is much easier than casting the original protection. To cast does require some preparation.
Mix the following ingredients:
1 gallon of a generic liquid for drawing, paint or wine
5 parts sea salt
2 parts rosemary
1 part thyme

When you are in visible range of the target to be dispelled you must use the magic artifact used in the original casting that was used to sacrifice the virgins, and draw your own blood with the artifact and mix in with the formula.
Then paint the following on the ground around you (takes 3 rounds):

Then while standing in the circle and holding the artifact repeat the following:
"Et incarnatus est de diis, donum quod dedisti tollere"
If the gods approve the spell will be removed.

.
OOC: You must pass a power check (ie. Power * 5). If you fail you can repeat the words every round and continue to check. The target will know what you are attempting.

Harrison grins as he finally gets the spells.

He writes down the ingredients on a list and puts it in his pocket. As he leans back in his chair, he notices that a considerable time has passed, the crushed cigarette butts and empty whiskey bottle a hard reminder of it.

He gets up, sighs, yawns and stretches and leaves the room.

OOC:,Can I go back to the other thread?

OOC:,All right, while he waits he'll learn the immortality spell and look up the number of 20 virgins in his little black book. ;)

Hehe,Harrison doesn't approve. All this screwing around is severely diminishing the available number of virgins.
