You both notice the curtain shift like someone peaking out of the curtain. Its across the street and over 1 house.

I nod in the direction of the house with the twitching curtains, "Seems like we are being watched, lets go and see what else they've noticed"
Without waiting for an answer I walk over to the house in question and knock on the front door.

No one answers.

Richard knocks on the door just a little louder and says through the door "Excuse me we know you are home we just need to ask you a few quick questions could you please give us a minute of your time?"

The door cracks open about an inch. You see an old woman peeking out. "Are you the police?"

Richard responds softly trying to build the ladies trust "No ma'am we are not, but we are checking in on your neighbor over there because we think he has been up to some very odd things that have us a bit worried. Could you please spare us a moment or so of your time to let us know what you know of him and any strange things you have seen that have gone on over there?"

"Not the police, huh. That's too bad, I've called them at least a dozen times. All those strange comings and goings in the night. But how do I know your not a couple those rapists. I read you know."

[DrVendetta]

"Ma'am my friend and I mean you no harm, we are just investigating this neighbor of yours and all of the strange things he has been up to. You mentioned you have called the police about 'those strange comings and goings in the night' would you care to elaborate on those things? This might help us get the proper authorities involved?" Richard says in a calm soft and polite voice to the lady

As Richard seems to be doing alright with the lady, I leave the chat to him. Instead turning around and looking over to Phil's in case I spot any movement from within.

"Well I've seen him taking bodies in and out of that house of his at all hours of the night. He always does it at night thinking no one can see." She says.

"So have you seen any sign of him last night or today?"

In the time I've been watching Phil's place I haven't seen any movement at the windows to give me any reason to suspect his presence.

She has cracked the door open a bit more so you can see her face. "Well he come home last night, maybe around midnight. Then left again about 30 later. Then this morning some men were looking around. I'm not a snoop or anything, I'm just making sure our neighborhood is safe."

[DrVendetta]

"I appreciate and support your vigilance in trying to help keep your neighborhood safe." Richard says trying to compliment the woman and to help show that her efforts are helping the neighborhood. Richard continues "Last night when he came in was he alone? Did he bring a body or anything else unusual in with him?"

"You mean last night, no body. I heard him pull up, so took a quick look and he ran in empty handed, then about 15 to 20 minutes later ran out with a suitcase, put it in his trunk and drove off." she replied.

"Did you notice anything special about the suitcase? Did it look like a suitcase for cloths like he might be leaving town or a suitcase to carry tools or books or something else?" Richard ask

"It was just a suitcase, I don't have X-ray vision after all." She says.

Richard smiles at the lady and ask "What time did the other two people show up this morning and what did they look like?"

"Its not like I take pictures, it was just 2 guys, they came about 8, knocked, looked in the garage and left. Thats all I know" and she shuts the door.

Richard turns to Warren "So do you think he skipped town?"
