Location: Boston City Hospital
Date: March 21, 1921, 11:30 PM

As you pull up in front of the small hospital it is a brick building with steps leading up to the front door. There is a smaller backdoor, but no other way in or out (except the windows) on the 3 story building that looks more like a house than anything else.

You come up the stairs, many of you with trouble. When you walk into the front door you see a nurse in a white uniform sitting at a desk reading a small book. She immediately turns as white as her uniform when you pile in. "Oh my god, what happened?"
.

Harrison limped out of the car without the use of the shovel and he grins sheepishly at the nurse.

"We fell through a floor, darling, I don't think we've broken anything, but we'd mightily appreciate some help ascertaining that."

She pushes a button on her desk and you hear a buzzing noise. She has you all sit in chairs and starts first aid on you.

A few minutes later another nurse walks in. The first nurse says, "Call Dr. Jones, these people need more help than what we can give."

Warren Kaine

I say loud enough for the nurses to hear, "I told you that the floor wouldn't be strong enough to hold us all, but oh no you were certain that the carpenter said it was safe"
Looking over at the nurses I add, "We were preparing for a church social and the floor we had been assured was safe for dancing was not. Still better we found out now."

"Nasty fall. Harrison and I were cut up real good trying to escape the rubble." Michael adds. His aim is to keep the story as simple as possible. The last thing they'd need was the police digging too deep into this.

Charles is now silent, having ceased muttering to himself. To an outside observer, the lost look in his eyes, taken in conjunction with the piece of wood embedded in his shoulders and the various scrapes and bruises, might seem to indicate shock. After a while, he turns to Harrison, and as if suddenly waking up, asks loudly, "Church social?"

The nurses work on everyone, finding beds in 1 large room with 8 beds. They seem more interested in treating you than figuring out what happened. Though you can hear a few murmurs of "new construction, yea right." But they don't push for information.

After each of you have had some 1st aid done, then the doctor comes around and does his medicine skill on it.
.
Those that were strength drained, the doctor diagnosis you with a disease and puts you on some medication drips.

Charles is put on a heavy sedation for the night.

ooc,If you have already had 1st aid done, you cannot get it again or medicine for the same wound. The Medicine will increase the healing rate, but not help for a while.

Harrison,You get 3 points back from their expert first aid. They also provide you a walking cane and a strange brace for your knee. They tell you it is to take pressure off of it. They tell you several ligaments were probably torn and only time will heal those.

Charles,You have 2 wounds so you can get 2 1st aid rolls. The first was successful and you got 2 points. The 2nd on your hands failed. So the doctor is trying medicine on it. The doctor nails it with a crit success and gets 3 points back. The meds will help you get through the next few days so you can act normally, but you have the phobia I described earlier.

Sonny,I don't even remember when you got injured but they heal up your minor scraps.

Michael,the nurses do a bang up job on your 2 injuries, getting back 3 from 1 and 2 from the 2nd.

Richard,you are healed back 2 points on the nasty knife wound.

Warren,you weren't really hurt. The meds help you sleep and you regain your strength by morning.

Jordie,you weren't really hurt. The meds help you sleep and you regain your strength by morning.

OOC ALL,I have updated your character sheets for you, so no need to do that, but check them to see your current status.

When the nurses and doctors have done their work and left, Harrison props up in his bed and looks at the others.

"So...where do we go from here? We should probably call the museum in the morning."

Warren Kaine

Without rasing my head from the pillows, I mutter dreamilly, "First thing I'm going to do in the morning is get me a gun, and the second, pop round to Phil's there are a few questions I want answered"

OOC:   My injuries were received back in the chapter when Harrison and myself visited the house and the albino slammed the window down in my arms. I didn't receive any injuries at the chapel

Sonny waits until all those needing medical attention have been treated.

"Ok folks, I'm going to head back and see what the professor has to say about all this. I'll come back tomorrow with some dime store novels and some grapes " he gives a wink, a smile and tired but cheery wave.

OOC:   Back to the museum for Sonny

By the time all the treatments are done it is close to 5 am.

Sonny,at this hour the museum is probably not open. You can head to your place to get some sleep or stay here. Or go to the meseum and wait for it to be opened.

Richard says to Sonny "hang on I will go with you to the museum Sonny"

Richard walks over to Warren and says quietly to him "We diffenetly need to talk about Phil tomorrow I think he has a lot more to do with this than anyone else realize's, I would also like to talk about Jenna as well but for tonight you just get some rest and heal up"

Richard then walks out to the car with Sonny to go back to the museum

The nurse happened to be walking by and pokes her head in, "you sir (pointing at you Richard) aren't going anywhere. Doctor says you need to rest till morning at the least so he can check those stitches he put in. You are lucky to be alive with a knife wound like that."

Sonny give an almost imperceptible nod towards the car and murmers to Richard "Get in the car, meet me round the corner

He turns to the nurse and walks towards her, blocking her access to Richard and gives her a winning smile "It's alright miss, I'll take care of him and make sure he gets plenty of rest. He wants to get home to his wife, who's having kittens with worry. He's received excellent care here and he's an old soldier who's seen action - he knows what to do to get a wound all fixed up. I promise you I'll take him straight home to bed and I give you my word of honour that I'll bring him back in the morning so he can see the doctor when we visit our friends." He broadens his smile.

As the medication finaly overcomes me I can't help but smile at Richards situation, Do as nurse tell you, nurse always knows best...

"No Sir, you are not taking him anywhere. If I have to call a bunch of ordelies and sedate the lot of you I will." She says back. "Doctor said one bad move and his whole intestines would fall right out. Judging by the looks of you lot, resting is the last thing on your minds. Rest a few hours till morning, then you can go run off and get yourself killed then."

"Thanks cupcake." Michael flirts with the nurse who tend to his wounds, flashing her a tired yet still charming smile. In reality though, his mind is elsewhere, attempting to piece together the madness he had witnessed.

"Well after we're let out of this nursery, we should probably head to the haunted house that looks to be at the center of it all. If this Phil fellow is involved, it strikes me as likely that he might try to finish whatever the albino started."

He nods to the drowsy Warren. "Getting a gun is wise, thing saved my life back there. We ain't dealing with schoolgirls here. These men are hardened killers. Of course I'd prefer they be taken alive so we can get to the bottom of all this, but if it comes down to us or them, I want it to be us."

Sonny takes a quick glance over his shoulder, ensuring that Richard is heading towards the car.

"Ma'am, I do beg to differ. I don't want to be causin' no scene here but, and you can correct me if I'm wrong, but my friends walked in here by their own free will and they have the right as free citizens of this fine and mighty country to walk out of here as and when it might please them. They have not been incarcerated here by the state, this is not the loony bin! We is all very appreciative of the care that we have received at your fine and fair hands but you have no right to keep us here against our will. Now I'm asking you one last time, let's not have us a scene here, let me and my friend make our way home and I will bring him back to see the doctor in the morning. As god is my witness, I swear this to you miss."

OOC:   Sonny will step to block the nurse getting past him to allow Richard as much time as necessary to get to the car.

Richard slips past Sonny who is blocking the nurse's path and heads for the car.

The nurse shakes her head, "Fine if you want to go off and kill yourself go ahead, I won't stop you."

You can slip past and head out, now that the adrenaline is gone and the local is wearing off, the pain is pretty bad.

"So before you two go, how do you want to pay for your bill?"

Richard say's to the nurse "I get paid on Friday so I will be back on Friday to pay my bill"

Ben,pay my bill... your killing me here, you understand what medical treatment in 1921 was right? LOL

The nurse writes something on your chart, "Very well Mr. Rahl, but please be careful. If you start to bleed again please return."

OOC:   Hey guys, do you think that maybe Ben wants you to heal your characters? Also, what's the point of going to the Museum when it is closed?

OOC:   I'm barely scratched and don't need to stay at the hospital - even with the temptation of those lovely young nurses!

Ok, Richard, so what's up man? Why you so keen to be outta that place - you really do need the rest man! he looks Richard over.

Anyway, I just wanna check that that Phil guy isn't heading to the museum to cause mischief, though I think he's probably gone to the house, which is where I intend going afterwards. Just to stake it out mind

Richard says to the nurse "Thank you maam, and trust me I will be back if I start bleeding again, if not I will see you on Friday"

Richard then walks out with Sonny after they make it to the parking lot Richard responds to Sonny "It is not as bad as it looks it was a pretty straight in cut and it was a clean cut, I got lucky that he missed all my organs but I think the nurse was over stating my condition a little back there. I am going to need some rest very soon though. I did'nt want to stay there because if the police go looking for us that is the first place they may look, god only knows what type of spin Phil may try to put on this if they get to Phil before us all the cards will be in his hands and I don't like playing poker against someone with a stacked hand. So why do you think he would go back to the house with the Reverends body?"

OOC:   Warren & all, I plan on getting some rest as I know we have been up all night I am just not going to do it there, the first place the police may look for a stabbing victim who has reportedly shot several people"

OOC:   Richard and Sonny go here.

OOC:   The rest of you are resting comfortably in your hospital bed on painkillers and drugs, but may talk.

From the comfort of my bed I ask drowsily, "Does anyone know what happened to Joe the photographer?"

"Who's Joe?" asks Charles. "I think I missed quite a bit, in that hole... In any case, I guess I'm convinced that we're looking for something a little more intense than money launderers..."

Jordie had woken up in a cold sweat, her heart pounding as she looked outside the window and still saw darkness outside. Focusing her eyes closer to a nearby clock and realizing it's only around five in the morning, she slowly falls back into bed in relief. Jordie thought she woke up in night still, thinking everything that happened last night was just a nightmare, but afraid that day can only be a dream that was still distance away. However, the sudden realization of how real everything happened last night left Jordie troubled. Like most nightmares, every choice made is always the wrong move. Jordie turned over in her bed towards the window, and waited for dawn to crawl across the sky.

Waiting in bed, a sudden thought had crossed Jordie's mind and her eyes light up. Stretching over from her bed to her bag, Jordie pulls the bag up on her lap and rummages around. Jordie draws out a curvy knife delicately, and cautiously slides her finger across the blade as she examines the hilt.

Jordie slowly puts the odd ornate shaped knife back into her shoulder bag, and sets it on a stand by her bedside.

Michael frowns.

"I'm unsure where Joe scampered off to. But I don't think he's our guy. He was with me and the others when the fire started. He was probably a patsy."

Charles shrugs, in a mixture of irritation, resignation and exhaustion. "I'm sure it will all make sense at some point. And I hope someone is keeping track. In any case, as soon as we're back on our feet, I thinks visit to the house is necessary - even if it's just to burn it down...."

He begins nodding off to sleep.

Jodie clues in, "Joe was in the car with one of you fellas and Richard. I think Joe hailed a cab when we got to the hospital, not sure what happened to his partner in crime Phil, but we left him to dry back there.

Jordie slowly cranes her body out of the bed, her bare feet landing on the cold floor as it sends chills up her body. Scanning the medical ward around her, Jordie moves towards the door as her feet slaps against the floor. Creaking the door slowly and peaking her head around the corner, Jordie looks for a fresh copy of The Boston Globe, wondering if their fun midnight escapade has made front-page news. She had wondered that if her face was up for wanted, they would at least take a picture of her good side.

Warren Kaine

"As soon as I'm able I'm outa here. Phil would have guessed where we would go, so if he called the cops this is where they will come. Although I'm not sure he would've, don't know what his game is but I don't think it includes the law"
I look around for my clothes...

Jordie finds the morning edition of the Globe and is ushered back to her bed by one of the nurses, "just ask next time", the nurse scolds her, but she is allowed to keep one of the copies. As she looks through the paper there is no mention of the fire, the Chapel or anything to do with their adventure the night before.

Warren looks for his clothes but they are not around. It seems after Richard made his bold exit, clothes were gathered up to prevent further quick departures.

"Apparently a couple of bodies with more holes than the titanic, and enough fire to warm the city back to ninety-degrees, doesn't quite cut headline news," Jordie tosses the newspaper on Warren's bed, Jordie adds, "Either the cops are keeping a tight lid on it, or your friend Phil is a man of his words. Though, word travels fast and it'll be the talk of the town. We need to speak with your friend Warren."

Everyone dozes off and on for a few hours. Finally, about 10 AM the doctor comes in and starts to make the rounds. The nurses also bring in your clothes you were wearing from the previous day.

The doctor clears you all to be released saying something about needing the beds.

The Nurse also informs you that your bill has already been taken care of.

You see orderlies coming in to change the linens on the beds. You get the strong impression they are ready for you to leave.

OOC:   You are free to leave the hospital, where do you want to go?

"I agree with Jordie, let's stop by the museum first, I'm sure that's where Richard and Sonny will go too."

Harrison leans heavily on his cane as he makes for the exit, thanking the nurses for their care.

"I'm getting the feeling the professor already knows what has happened, maybe the boys already are at the museum."

"Museum makes sense, we have to meet back up with the others," says Charles. Although he had a restless night, as evidenced by the dark circles under his eyes and the occasional muffled cry he have in his sleep, he looks much calmer than the night before. "After last night, we have a number of questions to ask the professor."

"Sounds good to me." Michael offers. "I think it's about time the professor elaborates on what we're dealing with. Sounds as though he has experience with all of this."

The five of you limp out of the hospital and to your 2 cars still there. It is cold. The temperature is down 40 degrees from yesterdays high to now. The clothes you have on are not adequate at all for this weather. The high today is only in the 50's, and its supposed to go down even more tomorrow. Not to mention, they still have some blood stains they couldn't get all the way out.

You shiver as you rush to the cars and head to the museum.
