Name: Charles Bortolo
Occupation: Medical Officer
Degrees:
Birthplace:
Mental Disorders: None (yet)
Sex: Male
Age: 38

Background: Charles Bortolo had served as a Military Doctor for the Germany during World War 1. He seldom tried to enter combat situations but often found himself forced to the front in dire times when the BEF (British Expeditionary Force) tried to push the Germans back. The horrors he'd seen there haunt him to this day. To the people he knew who died (his brother and a few cousins he knew died in battle), to the things he had to do to survive (once he was trapped in an empty trench for months to hide from enemy forces, forcing himself to cannibalize a nearby corpse before starving to death), to the sheer merciless nature war brought with it, and the toll it took on his country (the great depression and the pact to keep his country down) and his family (his mother killed herself from the news of her dead son, his father died of a terrible illness while Charles helplessly watched him fall apart). Since that time Charles had dedicated himself to his passion as a doctor desperate to learn new methods of medicine and medical practices.

Goals:

1. To study at the universities and to find other people of whom he could learn medicine from. His obsession has become his life's work, his desire to one day to cure all illnesses.

2. To escape Germany the place has too many painful memories.

4. The good doctor had sent letters to a seller who claimed he was in possession of a medical book owned by a brilliant Doctor known as Johann Schiller who died some time in 1809. Coincidentally this same pen pal by the name of James Adair was also leaving Germany on the same Train after he had come to visit some family on holiday. If the book was indeed dated, Charles thought, it would at least be a good read on his trip.

EQUIPMENT

Carried/worn:
In his overcoat pocket next to his passport is a wallet containing his money, identification, social security, a card regarding his medical profession, a small family portrait, and a key to a lock box in 1 of 3 of his trunks.

Compartment:
The 2 of the 3 trunks contain mostly mundane things such as clothes and supplies for personal hygiene such as a comb, toothbrush and toothpaste, all except for the few miscellaneous books here and there, some of which the doctor has read but has barely glanced over (These consist of tomes the doctor believes to be fictional or just have some pieces of knowledge that the doctor likes to read to rest his brain after a busy day of thorough study). But in the 3rd trunk is an assortment of items regarding his medical profession such as medical tools, medicines, books on medical procedures used for reference in case the good doctor might need them. However not all of these are legal and all are locked up in a secret compartment right beneath his usual items for cases which he considers in need of emergency situations. These medicines, the good doctor thinks, are medicines that have been thrown out by the medical board because they couldn't make a profit off of the patients using it.
