"Men think they know everything," Lily says, rolling her eyes. She looks over at Svetlana and ponders for a moment. "I don't believe so... Why do you ask?"

[Laraqua]

Svetlana smiles a small private smile. "You are Lily Gavigan, are you not?"

[Kadael]

"I am. So you know me, but I do not know you?"

[Laraqua]

"We have never met. I am Svetlana Altukhov. I believe I met your brother in London. His introductions brought me to this place in time."

[Mr. Handy]

"The world just keeps getting smaller, does it not?" says Elena. "I am Elena Orloff, and it is a pleasure to meet you."

[Kadael]

"Oh? Well, it's very good to meet you. Do you know my brother very well?"

[Laraqua]

Svetlana Altukhov gives a little shake of the head, her hair falling flawlessly back into place once she had finished. "We met only twice. He had been in discussions with a British Colonel and a few other members of the British Union of Fascists as well as a German VIP. I was the British Colonel's plus one but your brother was kind enough to make a few introductions to some of the others for me. I made quite an impression on the German VIP and he offered me a position as femme fatale in a few movies they are currently designing."

[Mr. Handy]

"You certainly look the part," says Elena with a smile. "Is the German VIP someone we'd have heard of?"

Midnight Syndicate

The lounge car is decorated in the Art Nouveau style with many a decorative flourish, particularly on the rich mahogany ceiling panels. Fresh flowers adorn the tables, at the moment blue orchids, with beautiful lamps adorning the window sills. Each table holds two very wide, oh so comfortable, arm chairs made with a blue-grey upholstery. The chairs are so large that they limit the number of people who can fit around the tables and therefore within the Lounge Car itself but on the plus side the chairs are perfectly comfortable and would be perfect for a quick snooze. As the train sits quietly at the station, the lounge car seems strangely sad and disturbed, as though it had been abandoned and cut off from all the world around it.

Svetlana continues to smile. " SS-Obergruppenführer Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich from the Institut für Wehrwissenschaftliche Zweckforschung, or Institute for Military Scientific Research. My current escort's older brother."

"I have heard of him," says Elena. "He is said to be a most formidable man. So what brings you and his brother on this train?"

[Laraqua]

Svetlana Altukhov merely says, a little cryptically, "My inspiration in the Private Car."

[Mr. Handy]

"Ah, the mysterious Private Car," says Elena. "There's been a lot of speculation about what's in it and who owns it. All I've been able to gather is that it seems to be a traveling museum of sorts. What do you know about it?"

[Laraqua]

Svetlana Altukhov pauses. "A travelling museum? What an intriguing comparison. I've never heard it described that way before. Who described it that way?"

[Mr. Handy]

"Why, you did, earlier," says Elena. "You said it to Mr. Parker. I believe your exact words were 'roving museum.' I agree, it is intriguing. What is it, exactly?"

[Laraqua]

A flicker of genuine confusion crosses over Svetlana Altukhov's eyes. "Are you sure? Why would I describe it in such a way? I have never been inside, I'm sure of it...."

[Mr. Handy]

"Yes, I'm certain," says Elena. "You said you heard someone else describe it that way."

Svetlana Altukhov's smiles again. "My escort must have described it in such a way."

Elena studies the other woman carefully. "He could not have been in the Private Car before either," says Elena. "Has he not only just boarded the train? How does he know what it contains?"

Psychology roll,[b]Svetlana[/b] seems disturbed as though she had two competing memories and wasn't sure which was true.

Svetlana Altukhov's expression becomes almost normal, slightly perplexed, without the usual silver screen flair. "I did have a dream of it," she admits. "At least I think I dreamed visiting it ... I wouldn't think that I would describe it as though I had been there. I mean, I'd forgotten about that dream until you mentioned it. The Private Car was so strange ... the paintings of an Egyptian landscape besieged ... the statue in the locked cabinet about the size of a torso of a sphinx but it looked ... and then there were words ... she was so beautifully ... she radiated all the elegance and power of an Egyptian priestess ... I could almost see the bejewelled collar and kohl eye liner. Perhaps there was kohl eye liner?" She pauses, seemingly gathering herself together. "How silly of me! Dreams are only dreams."

The bartender opens the door from the direction of the bar car. "Sir, mademoselles, I'm just letting you all know that the bar car is open should any of desire a beverage." He gives a curt bow and returns to the bar car.

Psychology roll,[b]Svetlana[/b] seems almost to flinch as she sees him, almost as though she recognised him for a moment, but then her expression smooths out as though she has even forgotten that momentary recognition.

Svetlana Altukhov rises from her seat. "I should like a morning libation." She hurries into the bar car.

[Mr. Handy]

"Well, it's a bit early in the day for me to start drinking," says Elena, "but perhaps I'll join you there later." She watches Jonathan to see how he reacts to the bartender's appearance.
