[Laraqua]

"Interruptions?" He cocks his head to see the drawing better. "Is that the water closet on the Orient Express?"

[Kadael]

"Yes. This is just a sketch; it'll look better if I decide to paint it."

[Laraqua]

"Is this the sort of thing you usually paint?"

[Kadael]

She smiles enigmatically. "What is 'this sort of thing?' I don't normally paint men in water closets, no."

[Laraqua]

"I...." He pauses, gazing at her and appearing quite at a loss for what to say. He mutters something in Russian under his breath. "I should leave you to it then." He steps a bit further out into the corridor and peers down its length more intently.

[Kadael]

Lily watches him stare down the hallway, still smiling. "Flowers," she says. "I paint flowers. And bones. And vampires..." Her smile becomes a grin.

[Laraqua]

He seems relatively unmoved by the notion of vampires. That barb didn't hit home or at least didn't mean anything to him. "Oh? Why vampires?"

[Kadael]

"Why, because they're all the things we want. Forever young and beautiful, dead and yet alive. Count Dracula had everything--money, power, women. And feeding on the blood of the living is terribly poetic."

[Laraqua]

The fellow gazes back along the corridor again and then steps out of the doorway and heads down the corridor.

[Kadael]

Lily watches him go with a raised eyebrow, then closes her sketchbook and sets it down.

Lily closes her eyes, takes a breath, and listens intently.

Germany, 07:55

Thus far all she can hear are footsteps in the hall.

Kliment's footsteps recede down the corridor to meet another set of footsteps and then there's about 10 seconds of silence followed by, "Mr. Charles Gavigan was hoping to have an introduction with you ... if you could come right this way, please."

The man from last night's voice: ""Just a minute old chap, there's a good fellow. Just want to check that the lady I met last night is still alright. You know how it is. Then I'll be along like a snake."

[Kadael]

Lily moves her sketchbook to the table, tucks her pencil into her purse, and sets her purse on top of the sketchbook.

Keeper,Not trying to hide it, really, just make it look like ordinary unremarkable clutter.

Germany, 08:10

Thus far all she can hear are footsteps in the hall. The lights flicker briefly overhead.

Cecil pokes his head into the comparment and looks around. He spots Lily. "Aha, Good Morning Madam! I hope you are well? Er... everything okay?" He has another look round to see if there is anything oddly amiss. "I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself last night: Cecil Linscott, Lord Horfield. But please call me Cecil; the further I get from old Blighty, the less inclined I am to worry about the honorifics, you know. Plus, I'm in disguise and on the run, as it were.' He taps his nose and grins but he still looks rather concerned.

There is a sketchbook sitting on the side table with a series of guide lines drawn on it and the more detailed impression of a female figure (naked or perhaps her clothes haven't been drawn on yet?) in what appears to be the water closet of the sleeping car and whose hands seem to be gripping a conductor's uniform which she has stripped off a man lying on the tiles. The main focus of the drawing seems to be the twisted bits of flesh between her teeth and some basic background details.

"Good morning, sir," says Lily, nodding politely. She doesn't smile back, just watches him. "Yes, everything is all right. Are you here to see my brother? I'm sure he'll be out any minute now."
