SA Graves gets out of the taxi getting him to his prepaid destination. The bureau didn´t save when they were hunting big fish.
Unloading his gear, he prepares to check in and get his bearings on the investigation. What the briefing had given was the following:
A team of three to five persons of interest is using a net of government agencies´ funds to skim from to somehow start a movement to
undermine authority on the east coast. The files on each of the POI are drawn up on paper and stamped with IRS eyes only headings.

Paper clips and attached photographs shows the targets in black and white Polaroids. Evidently someone is intent on not leaving a digital trail.

After checking in Holston quickly folded his clothes into drawers of the well appointed hotel room. He hung his suits up, but remained dressed casually; there would be time enough for the 'fed' look later. He cleared the small table and then, grabbing himself a coffee, he laid out the information he had about his targets to look over them in more detail. He then made a quick call on his cell phone to check in with his superior.

Apparently Crompton had bought a house in Greenville about half a year ago.
He has ties to a hospital in the region. C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital (CAD)

Calderon has some serious debts to a drug cartel in Texas. The link between the hospital and DEA might be far fetched, but for a DEA agent to have a connection at R&D at CDC seems like a good match.

The third party, Nichols, could have been the beauty of the team, had she not been freakishly tall. She´d fit in any of the WNBA teams for sure.
Calderon would be the enforcer and Crompton the thinker.
They all could play their part. If this was easy.
But, as it always turns out. It never is.

The Red Cell crew are up to something and they are beaming together in Bridgeport of all places.

Crompton´s house would be a first stop. Probably.
Then his affiliation with the hospital.

So far, only Crompton is on site, that being Bridgeport. Calderon and Nichols have yet to arrive.


On the other end of the phone, Melissa van Ness answers. "Director Van Ness, how can I help you?"

"Director, this is SA Graves out at Bridgeport. I've just arrived and about to start digging a little deeper on the Red team you've put me here to check up on. Have no fears, if there is anything suspicious going on with them, I'll find it."

Holston listens carefully to his director and then begins to organise his thoughts. Crompton seemed to be the first, and safest, option to investigate first - if there were any financial irregularities, then it would be the brains of the operation that was most likely to be up to his neck in it. Holston clicked open his laptop and punched in Crompton into the search engine to do a bit of background digging. His primary goal was to find his home address and do some hands-on snooping around.

"Good work Graves. Let me know when you find something we can use." Van Ness hangs up.

The search gives multiple addresses on Crompton. One in Texas, a corporate apartment belonging to CDC. The other is an address in Greenville, ME. Lily Bay Road 181. He´s apparently working as an analyst at CDC with connections to Greenville. Greenville has one large hospital. When he thinks of it, much too large for the area. They have capacity to support a larger city while Greenville is not more than a small community. A village.

'Greenville seemed like an obvious place to make some enquiries' Holston punched the address into his sat=nav and groaned inwardly at the thought of a 400 mile drive along the I-95. But, he reflected, he'd driven further and in less time than he had now in the past. He packs a small rucksack of essentials and rings the local dollar car rental to arrange a car. After he sorted it, he began his trip...

Greenville

Graves finds himself in Greenville at Lill Bay Road as the sun has set behind a pine shrouded mountain ridge. The small house is dark. The mailbox outside is filled to the top.
No cars are parked outside, though a set of treads lead to the back of the property. They are filled with white gravel to withstand the extra pressure of a vehicle using the lawn. In the gloom, the gravel makes a stark scar in the neglected lawn.

Holston parked the truck a little way from the house and then walks back to surveillance the property. First he walks the perimeter of the property before taking a closer look through some of the windows and rattling the doors to see if they are unlocked.

The effort to gain access effortlessly is a no go. The doors, back and front are locked. The windows are locked too.
By the look of it Crompton is not living here anymore. The heat is off. Electricity too, according to the mail.
By the contents of the mail box, the last time it was emptied was six months ago. April 3rd.

Holston starts to realize that finding anything that would stick to Crompton at this address is a stretch.
But you never know, do you?

Breaking and entering wasn't normally the remit of the IRS but what the hell, Holston thought - he needed a break. He looked around for a suitable point of entry keeping an eye out for nosy neighbours.

Walking around the property, Holston finds a rear entrance hidden from view by a tool shed. A dog barks from the property to the left of Crompton´s lease. A regular lock, window panel in the door. Further there are two brown pots next to the wall facing the woods and a semi circle brown mat of woven straw next to the door. Third class hinges keep the door in place.
Not the classiest place for a psychiatrist to stay, but good for keeping a low profile.

From his vantage point, Holston can see how two men in track suits come walking down the street and stop by his truck. They talk but he can´t hear what they are saying.

A successful Listen check will provide Graves with the rest of the conversation between the two men.
A lock picking check will get him inside the house or .... not. A mechanical repair check will unhinge the door. A hide check will hide Holston from prying eyes. Of course, he can do anything he likes to, it´s up to you.

Holston squats quickly beside and tries to avoid being seen, he leans as close as he dares trying to hear what is going on whilst jiggling the lock with a pocket knife.
