Liz carries on, determination making up for her physical frailty. She starts down the stairs, relieved that she's out of the smoke for now. "Hurry!" she calls. "This place is starting to come down round our ears!"

Clay says as he tears up Jacob's pants and takes a leather piece to wrap around his leg.

Jacob says nothing but moans in pain

Elira follows Greg without any further encouragement, but when the two girls see one another in the lounge area they start laying into one another verbally.

Coming down the stairs Liz hears Greg's voice followed moments later by the sounds of two girls having a go at one another

OOC: Greg,[b]Psychology[/b] roll please to understand the girls motivations.

OOC: Jacob,Jacob is no longer losing blood, but remains out of action for the moment. Please can we have a [b]listen[/b] roll for Clay

"There's no time for fighting!" Liz yells as she continues down the stairs. "The house is burning down!"

Greg hears Liz's voice from upstairs, but the two girls look as though they are close to coming to blows.

Clay hold Jacob and goes out form the back to their escape car.

Greg quickly points the revolver into the face of the other girl to remind her he is the one in charge and demands, "Shut it! The goddamn house is burning down! Get out now or die... your choice!"

With a jerk of his head, he tries to further motivate Elira to continue on up and out.

From the doorway Liz can see the two girls a surly looking teen shuts up at Greg's remarks but if looks could kill... Elira on the other hand looks at Greg and then starts pointing and jabbing over towards the other two doors in the room while rattling away in whatever language she is speaking.

[Mr. Handy]

"Hullo Elira," says Liz with a smile, then speaks to Greg. "I wasn't expecting to find all these girls down here, but maybe there's more in those two rooms. You got any surgical masks or something to cover our noses and mouths when we go back up? The whole ground floor's filled with smoke." She goes over to the nearer of the two doors and tries it.

As Liz walks over to the door she is aware of the young teen saying something to her. The door is locked from the outside with a small deadbolt, but opens easily enough. Inside is a small box bedroom, (8'x8') a young girl in a pair of hello kitty pyjamas sits cross legged and crying on the bed.

OOC: Greg/Liz,[b]Psychology[/b] roll - success results in understanding the gist of the girls comments as "you'll be sorry"

OOC: Clay,Clay can now hear the sound of police sirens getting closer and voices around the side of the house which sounds like firemen trying to get access to the rear of the house.

"Besides this one and Elira, there's two other little girls down here, and this one seems brainwashed into doing the others' bidding," Greg tells Liz. He kept the gun trained on the girl and said, "There's no time to dig out surgical masks, not that it'd make much difference keeping smoke from filling your lungs with every breath. My suggestion is to hold your breath when we go up, and breath through your sleeve if you have to take a breath - and keep low. The hardest thing is probably going to be trying to find our way out when we can't see through the smoke. I think I remember the path back to the kitchen door, so we should be alright." Greg handed Elira's bag of belongings to her and told her, "Get out... go!"

[Mr. Handy]

"Right," says Liz, nodding. She picks up on the teenage girl's threat, but she isn't about to be bullied. She smiles and waves at the little girl, stepping to one side to make room for her to get out. "It's all right, sweetie," she says soothingly. "We've come to get you out of here." She gestures to the girl to come out of the bedroom. Even though Liz doubts the girl understands English, she hopes she can get the point across through her tone and body language. "The house is on fire, so you need to get out now." She spreads her arms wide and tries to simulate flames. "FWOOSH!" Then she points to the extinguisher she carries and mimics fighting a fire.

Clay prepares a story in his mind in case of trouble and directs himself and Jacob to the opposite way from the firemen and the police.
Time to escape man, hope you can hold it.

In the cellar:
The little girl in front of Liz bursts into tears but grabs a double handful of Liz's thick jacket and holds on in a frantic hug.

Elira opens the other door (another brief argument occurs between her and the other teen) revealing another girl (8-9yrs) is revealed this one in a Disney princess nightie, Elira takes the little girl by the hand and makes for the doorway to the stairs.

Upstairs: Clay and Jacob move into the cover of next doors hedge.

[Mr. Handy]

Liz hugs the girl back, picking her up if she's strong enough to carry her, and brings her to the stairs.

The girl is not light, but she wraps her arms around Liz's waist and her arms around Liz's neck befor burying her head in Liz's hair. Elira drags the other girl out of her room (in a "come on we have to move" manner rather than anything violent) and heads towards the doorway, the teen looks daggers at everyone but doesn't make any effors to stop anyone.

OOC:,All four of the girls are covered head to toe in the same distinctive tatoos.

Liz hustles up the stairs, preparing to take a huge gulp of air and hold her breath right before reaching the smoke and try to indicate to the girl to do the same. She'll also duck low so as to stay under it as much as possible.

The top of the stairs is already thick with smoke and the little girl starts coughing almost immediatly. At the top of the stairs its almost impossible to make out any details

In the cellar the three remaining girls move towards the stairs leaving Greg standing alone. smoke wafts through the air.

Outside Clay observes a pair of firemen break through the side gate they start to set up a hose but dissapear moments later.

OOC: Liz,[b]Navigation[/b] or [b]spot hidden[/b] roll to orientate yourself in the room - identifying the location of the window/doorway ( unlike the plans the side door is effectively the door to the cellar, due to the fact that the building shares a wall with next door.)

OOC: Greg,[b]Spot Hidden[/b] please. Success results in Greg noticing smoke being disturbed by a draft at the bottom of what looks like a concealed door in the wall shared with next door.

OOC: Clay/royya,[b]Spot Hidden[/b] to see figures (Liz) in the smoke filled KItchen.

Clay decides to change the escape route away from the firemen.

Greg wasted no time following the girls up. He tried to keep low and minimize breathing as he suggested, throwing his arm across his mouth and nose when he had to. He wanted to make sure none of the girls got off course from their path to the back door.
