IC-Chapter 1-Shadow Man(Bill Johns/Jim Hendricks)

[Mr. Handy]

4:15 PM - Thursday, July 17, 1969

Detectives Jim Hendricks and Gus Stoker pulled up in front of the Biomedical Library. They quickly saw Bill Johns, whom they recognized from roll call this morning, standing in front of the library entrance carrying a stack of papers. Bill recalled the two detectives, who were part of Sergeant Charlie Rawlings's C Squad, from this morning as well. He could see the resemblance between Jim and his brother Sergeant Dave Hendricks from the firing range. Jim was a good five years younger than Dave, but otherwise looked a lot like him.

"Bill! What have you got there?" Jim asks.

[Philulhu]

"Hey, guys," replied Bill, "It's a little night-time reading. You guys want to volunteer?"

"Got nothing better to do at all," Jim, answers.

[Mr. Handy]

"If you think it'll help, sure," said Gus Stoker. "We need to head back to HQ next, and we were told you'd need a ride."

[Philulhu]

"Yeah, there's a load to get through," replied Bill. "The guy who wrote this is involved in the case we're investigating - something to do with dreams. He wrote these..." - Bill lifted the papers - "and I'll be more than happy for you to take a shot at it." He looked around. "Where are you guys parked up?"

[Mr. Handy]

"Right here," said Gus, pointing to the car parked out front. "Let's go."
