Father Levington's Home - Ivy Hills, Pennsylvania

Brian said nothing more during the rest of the ride. Eventually Nathaniel pulled up outside his house.

Levington led Harry into his house and pointed to a couch.

"You can sleep there. I've got some blankets and a pillow that I'll get for you. Would you like anything to eat? Or Drink?"

"Thanks," said Brian, making himself comfortable on the couch. "Got any beer?"

"I'm Catholic," Levington said, smiling. "What do you think?"

The refrigerator seal in the kitchen popped as Levington opened it and pulled a pair of Imperial Stouts out of the door. The bottles hissed as Levigton popped their caps using the bottle opener mounted on his kitchen cabinet.

"Here," he said, handing one bottle to Brian.

"Thanks again, Father," said Brian. He clinked his bottle against Nathaniel's and took a swig. "Wow! This is really good stuff!"

"Are you hungry? I've got some cold cuts in the fridge."

"Yeah, I didn't really get dinner," said Brian. "Thanks, man. You know, Father, you're a lot cooler than my old man."

Levington cracked open his refrigerator and pulled out materials to make sandwiches: lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, salomi, roast beef. He got some bread out of the cabinet next to the sink.

"It's a lot easier to be everybody's father, than the father of someone in particular," Levington said. He started to make himself a sandwich. "Help yourself to whatever you like."

"Thanks," said Brian. He built himself a sandwich too, using all of the ingredients and stacking it high. When he finished, he had to open his mouth wide to bite it.

Levington chewed on his sandwich in silence for a while. And from time to time engaged Brian in small talk.

When the sandwiches were finished, Levington put away the sandwich materials and washed the dishes.

"I'll see you in the morning Brian," Levington said, and then went into his room, shut the door, and went to sleep.

Nathaniel went to sleep and woke up to sunlight coming through the window. The clock said it was a few minutes past 6:00; the sun rose early at this time of year. He had been expecting, maybe hoping, to have a dream like the one he'd had the night before, but he couldn't even remember his dream from the night that just ended, if he'd had one at all.

Levington gets out of bed and goes to check on Brian.

Levington went back downstairs and found Brian still sacked out on the couch, snoring away.

Levington quietly gets cleaned up and dressed. After he's dressed, he cooks some breakfast for himself and Brian.

It didn't like long for Nathaniel to fry up some bacon and eggs for breakfast. The scent was enough to rouse Brian from his slumber, for he slowly walked into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes. "Good morning, Father," he said. "That sure smells good!"

"Good morning," Levington said. "Have a seat. Grab what you like, there's more than enough."

"Thanks!" said Brian. He took a seat and started eagerly tucking in. "What's the plan for today?" he mumbled with a full mouth.
