St. Christopher's Church, Rittenhouse Square - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 8:30 PM - Thursday, July 17, 1969 Father Levington drove back into town and pulled up in front of St. Christopher's Church. The sky was just starting to get dark. When he arrived, he saw Brian Anderson waiting out front, looking around nervously. He sighed with relief when he saw the priest's car.
OOC,I gave a basic description of the church at the start of your introductory thread, God Only Knows. Since it's your church, you're free to describe it yourself beyond that within reason.
"I'm not really sure why I'm being followed," said Brian. "I wish I knew. I've never seen either of those guys before in my life. They were older, one in his forties and another about thirty. They could be anybody, and that's what scares me."
"That old guy," said Brian, "he's a police sergeant. He accused me of trying to kill him, but I never did. They've got me on the drugs, sure, but I never tried to kill nobody. I think they must have set me up so they could pressure me into helping them trap the mob guys who supply me."
"I only got to talk to one guy before the cops nabbed me," said Brian. "Some dude named Harry. He was pretty new to Lenny's Bar; he'd only been coming there the past couple of weeks. He wasn't interested in the Morpheus, though. He just wanted some LSD. Then the cops came and arrested us both."
"I can't help but thinking this has something to do with your father's drug. I don't have any proof, but that's what my gut is telling me. What I don't understand is why people are still looking for you when you don't have it any longer. Do you know much about your father's work? Does he have any competitors or rivals that are aware of what he is researching? For that matter, do you know what he's researching? Its... if its what I think it is.... beyond imagining."
"All I know is that Morpheus is supposed to let you control your dreams," said Brian. "I've never taken it, so I don't know for sure. He's running these experiments with student volunteers. The first round was a couple of weeks ago, and the second round starts tomorrow night. He's being helped by Assistant Professor Nancy Remington from the Psychology Department at Penn and a consultant in a wheelchair named Jerome Padgett. I don't know who else might be interested in this. If I had, I would have just sold it to them."
"I live at the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity house on Penn's campus," said Brian. "That's where I noticed those guys watching me. I don't know how long they'd been following me before that. Anyway, that's where I ditched them with a little help from my friend Gary Brown, one of the frat brothers. He dressed up in my clothes and walked out, pretending he was me. They took the bait and followed him, and that gave me time to get away unnoticed."
