Really sorry to keep you guys waiting on me, I'll have my character done by the end of tonight. Before I write him up though let me throw out the idea. An young egyptian guide, who's charasmatic, high power, and obsessed with the occult; he'd probably have some thief skills too. Would that fit in the party?

My character was approved right? Also is it cool that I have him speaking arabic as his first language, do I need to put points into English to be able to speak it?

lets asume he can speak broken English, it would be unlikely I would have thought that someone living in colonial Egypt would not know a little english.

Yes, all approved, sorry.

I'm away for the weekend, but I'll get into full swing next week!

Thanks for having me!

Now to get in character:
"he´s well educated and very much a formal man. Not much for jokes."
Hmm, this will take some getting into, but I'll try my best!

I'll see if I can outlast good Mr Rawson before giving him a personality change.
Could you link me to where you found that picture, Syrinx, I'd like to upload a thumbnail every time Herbert does something.

I'm hoping that car is taking us to a safe place where no Mythos activity will ever take place. *nods*
I'm sure that'll happen...

Hey gang,
we're booking long hours in the field to finish our dig before the weather shifts, so I'll be a bit slow on the reply.

Re: OOC Chat

Re: OOC Chat

If you're an archaeologist, that would be cool!; or are you an engineer, digging the foundations to a latrine?

Re: OOC Chat

Posted: Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:17 pm
by DrPeterson
I'm an archaeologist.
We're digging in the coastal area of Flanders, studying a system of dikes used to terraform the coastal marshes into arable land.

Re: OOC Chat

Posted: Fri Mar 08, 2013 1:47 pm
by Tabs
You're English, right? so why are you in Flanders?

Re: OOC Chat

by Aliktren
and have you found anything interesting ?

Re: OOC Chat

Posted: Sun Mar 10, 2013 11:45 am
by DrPeterson
I'm not English, I'm just uncommonly eloquent ;)

Wait, forgot I wasn't In Character there...

I'm Belgian, which goes a great way of explaining my presence in Flanders. My real specialilisation is the Near East, but it was a lot easier to find a paying archaeological job over here, than it was over there. I'm applying for a PhD in cuneiform studies at the moment and I if I'm granted that, it'll back to the desert for me. Hooray!

As for interesting finds, I'm afraid I must disappoint. We haven't found anything shocking yet, but we're nearing an area we suspect to hold a medieval moated farmstead. If we find it, I'll let you know.

Re: OOC Chat

Sounds very interesting DrP - good digging?

Re: OOC Chat

Posted: Sun Mar 10, 2013 8:25 pm

Your English is excellent, Mr. Rawson!

:) Cuneiform Tablets, Ancient Sumer, Ziggurats--my 7th grade history. :)

Please, report any interesting finds from the dig.

Re: OOC Chat

Posted: Tue Mar 12, 2013 9:54 am
by DrPeterson
Much obliged!

The most interesting thing to report from the dig is the fact that we didn't manage to stay ahead of the weather.

10" of snow makes it rather hard to do archaeology...what I wouldn't give for a sandstorm right about now.

And Tabs, that about sums it up ;)

Re: OOC Chat

Garrett has pulled out of the 'Spawn of Azathoth' game because he has too much going on - I we can assume the same might apply to this as well, until we hear differently.

I'll be in Ireland between the 29th and the 7th. I won't be able to answer mail or post entries until after that time, but Rawson isn't going to be very active in the coming scene, I gather :)

hey guys, whats the score at the moment, are you roleplaying or waiting on me for something - without Rawson and Aswald, would any of you know where the embassy is in Luxor ?

Re: OOC Chat

Posted: Thu Mar 28, 2013 11:24 pm
by Mr. Handy
I think we were waiting for you to move us to the consulate, since we're all leaving Chicago House. I'd think that if anyone would know where the British Consulate is in Luxor, it would be Isopel. Terry and I might know where our own consulates were, and there's a good chance they'd all be near each other. I'm not sure the Irish Free State would even have one in Luxor, especially considering how young it is.

well the new site looks spiffy, but had quite a few issues connecting over the last day or so, I have had to raise an issue with the publisher of the scenario as something doesn't add up so I will give them a couple of days to reply. In the meantime assuming I can post I suggest that we continue on with the bulk of the party heading to the embassy and Rawson somewhere yet to be determined :D

Well my little band of adventurers, just to let you know I am leaving for vacation tomorrow to somewhere that may or may not have easy access to free wifi, therefore whilst I will try and make updates, I can't promise.

This is actually pretty annoying as we seem to have gathered a nice head of steam, I hope you are still all enjoying it, I am struggling a bit, definitely as this is my first PBEM and first time keeper and some of the plot points have deviated more quickly than I expected :) so I hope I am not making a complete hash of it :)

Merry Christmas to all. If not of a Christian outlook, then have a great time over the festive period and go easy at New Year - don't want no mishaps now. Either way I hope that Santa is good and that 2014 brings you whatever it is you want most.

I will probably be taking a break from playing over the Christmas period due to family commitments, but may post if I manage to get the time.

How's the bairn getting on Aliktren?
