Re: Outside (Johnny)
"Evacuate station! I repeat evacuate station! This is Robert Bailey, abandon station!", comes from the radio. The protocol for hazard situations is to get to the surrounding buildings and await rescue. A beacon message automatically sent to McMurdo base.

Re: Outside (Johnny)
"Sheet! No way! We've only just got here." The broadcast makes no sense, true things were a little weird but not enough reason to abandon the station. Jonny wonders what the emergency is. Well, if the protocol is to make for the domes then he's surely in the best one with all the supplies, he reckons the others will make for this dome too. Fortified by the whiskey, Johnny gets up and looks through the boxes and equipment. He's not really sure what he's after but realises he's looking for a weapon; something useful against rabid dogs and mysterious parkered snipers.

Re: Outside (Johnny)
Checking through the boxes and benches Johnny finds the flamethrower the rescue team brought with Childs and MacReady, broken, an axe and a box of 12 dynamite sticks.
The C-130 had been making quite some noise when she landed. It had overpowered the gale and blowing snow. However, the sniper still is an enigma to Johnny. There can be many reasons for the station to be attacked. First, the team of mercenaries and researcher from Hawken that passed through the other week might have another agenda than they had stated.
Second, someone from the devastated outpost 31, the Norwegian station had been burnt down. Might be that one of the saboteurs got here by snowcat and decided to go on a killing spree? That happens all the time - in movies...
Third, anyone can get cabin-fever.
Still, the whiskey warms the soul.

OOC: Happy New Holidays! And a successful mech repair might fix the broken flame-thrower. |

Re: Outside (Johnny)
Johnny wonders if he was the one they expected to fly the C-31; he wouldn't mind at all, anything to get out of here. He rummages around for some spares for the flame thrower. It would be of little use against a sniper but would kebab those dogs to a crisp. He sets about fixing it. Maybe those mercs are back, maybe the boffins are researching something Hawken wanted; maybe probably not. Johnny sighs and sucks his finger where the soldering iron has nicked it.
