Station 10
(Approximately where the Victoria Land label is)

Site Plan

The runway stops between the main building and the three semi domes. North of the station is the small air traffic control tower.
Station 10 is an international station, which normally has twenty people stationed. But since it has just been winter and the need for staff has been low, there are now only ten people in post. It acts as a stocks of petrol, spare parts, clothing, food supplies. You find most of the nearby stations coming here for goods. That include aircraft landing and unloading because the base has a runway and control tower. This would allow large quantities of goods here. The other bases land their helicopters and pick what they need for their own supplies. On the base itself there´s a lounge / living room, a kitchen, a large warehouse, 8 bedrooms, a dormitory, a shower room with toilets, kitchen, dining room, a vehicle workshop, a radio room, a hospital room, a small lab and a generator room. Everything on the base has been built in advance and then flown here. It is rare that the walls are painted or wallpapered, instead they consist of pieces of wood panels or metal sheets. The entire base is very spartan built and simple furnished.

Being hosted on Station 10 the following is known about the compound.
In the airlock directly inside the entry door hangs all out door clothing on a rack.
The combined toilet / shower is simple and has a small mirror and an entire wall of shelves filled with bathroom stuff and cleaning products.

Radio room: Robert Bailey´s room is under the stairs, where he also sleeps.

The lounge has two tables with four chairs each, two comfortable sofas and a pinball machine “Alien”. The room has a 14 inch tele on top of a VCR. Also, a pool table functions as a sideboard for stacking magazines and journals.

The dining room has two oval tables with ten chairs each.

The kitchen is over crowded with pots and pans. The west wall has a walk-in freezer – creating a crammed space left for Arthur to work in. It´s basically one step in and then turn right to reach the stove. “Perfect! Everything´s within reach.” Quote by Arthur.

Ice Laboratory: Here, Price is keeping his samples. A desk is filled with research papers. An Apple 2 plus keeps all research on file. A cold storage is used to keep the samples.

The generator room emits a constant humming to the lounge area.

The second floor is reached from the stairs next to the air lock. Topside, the medical clinic is housed as well as most of the sleeping quarters. The station emergency locker is by the far east wall.

Outside in Harrison´s semi dome, he keeps all his tools along with a snow plow. Here´s quite chilly. At the far end of the dome is his office. This is heated to a tropical climate.

Station 10 helicopter is parked next to the helipad. (Where the McMurdo heli is idling atm.)

The air traffic control tower has a rickety ladder leading up to the 360 glassed control room. It´s very cold as glass in a bad insulator. Below the tower, the station back-up generator is mounted.

A snow mobile capable of transporting six people are parked in the garage.
Next to the garage, is the base main storage. Here, you can find a second part to anything on the base. Only Harrison knows where it is, though.

McMurdo

McMurdo is the largest of the three main U.S. bases in Antarctica. The base is located on Ross plateau on the coast at the southwestern Antarctic. In the summer there are about 1200 people stationed here. They have capability for large aircraft transports. In winter (April-October) however, the number of stationed decreases to about 200 people and only emergency aircraft is landing. Now in late winter, planes have begun to fly again from New Zealand after the winter break. This is where the scenario begins as the team start the helicopter trip back to Station 10.
