I´v implemented the Dice-MOD in this forum as in Antarctica 1983. Hopefully we´ll get used to it.
It makes it a little easier to roll, not having to go off-site.

Would you prefer to have a thread for rolls or keep it in-post, maybe in spoiler tags?

I would vote for keeping it in-post in spoiler tags.

I'm still trying to figure it out. I see the dice tags but have been unable to get it working thusfar.

It should be something like this:

Click on the dice tab.

Add 1d100 between the tags.

Code: Select all

[dice]1d100[/dice]

Code: Select all

[spoiler][dice]1d100[/dice][/spoiler]
Encompass all dice text in spoiler tag.
Spoiler:
[dice]0[/dice]
Then hit submit post. (Won´t give you a roll in preview)

The outcome is shown in your new post.

Click tab.

Ahhh there it is. Thanks. I was not going past the preview point where you mentioned it does not work.

As for my previous vote, I would like to change that to a separate thread for the die rolls. I was thinking that would allow easier tracking of rolls by a specific character.

Thanks again!

Hmmm strange. It subtracted 5 there. Oh well I'll get the hang of it.

I was thinking it would be more convenient to have the rolls in the posts, so that we don't have to make multiple posts when we need to roll something. The rolls can go in spoiler buttons.

It didn't subtract 3. It gave you the sum for 1d20+5 first (which was 8), then the actual value rolled on 1d20 below (3).

Oh I see. Thanks Mr. Handy.

I'm flexible to either way but I suppose in-post makes more sense in a single game. For some reason I started thinking campaign with re-occurring characters where they get skill increases between chapters if they live. Don't know why my mind went in that direction. I guess I better switch to decaf halfway through the day :D

Hey, is this still accepting new players? If so, I'd love to join. I could take on an abandoned role or create a new character myself, whatever would work better.

Hi Fyshb0ne!
You are welcome to join. I´ve not updated the game since a month, I guess. But I´ll get to it, eventually. You may roll
up a new character for sure.

To tie you in the story you could be a police officer investigating a string of arsons in L.A. the last couple of months.
Or maybe a fire fighter at Firehouse 72?

Even a coworker to Berkowiz would do. Or even better his newest pet of the month. The model, Ilja Sovastov...

The best way to cut you in would be by licking one of those.
You are of course free to create something all on your own and by chance walk in on the events. That works too.

To get in a similar feel as the other characters I suggest a creation process from: The first part of the game
Then we add something for "modern day" adventuring in the concrete jungle. That gives you a way in with the other two - being a Vietnam vet and all that.

How´s that?

Ilja sounds good. Is there anything about him I need to know before I come up with a backstory and roll stats? I read the story so far, but other than creepy eyes there's no important info I recall. Permission to go nuts with it?

Here's the character sheet. I trimmed it of most Vietnam-related info. There are 2 issues though; I need him to speak Roma (it's a Slavic dialect, so he can also understand Russian and other similar dialects) and have at least a bit of acting ability, and so I've reserved 67 points to devote to those skills (or to others, depending on your ruling.

Feel free to add Roma(ni) as spoken language. Also, acting works well as he is supposed to be a rising star.

As mentioned in my other games:

Guys, sadly I have to withdraw from my Keeping duties here at PLAY@YSDC.
I apologize for dropping this, as I find it a fun pass time.

More effort on work related stuff. Less fun.

Hoping to stay put to read about all other adventures.

Regards, Dave
