Juliette startles as the General fires at the alien, draws her gun and fires as she is sure the general har seen something she missed. But as she was so startled she does not get enough time to aim for something vital
mr. handy, the idea roll should read, she tries to se in she can understand the generals reaction, but with 77 against 65 she has no clue.. and I am of course happy to get to shoot at the creature again.. all Mi-goo should die.

As soon as possible Story will begin to make his way towards the Mi-Go. "STOP FIRING YOU IDIOTS!" Looking at Juliette then the General. "How can you expect to establish peaceful relations if you attack those you know nothing about! The Mi-Go might as well kill you all... you bunch of monkeys!"
Mr. Handy,Once again looking towards the Mi-Go in his mind Story says "I'm sorry... forgive me. They lack an appreciation for things that they can't make sense of."

When the others opened fire, the security officers acted instinctively. Alison Silver fired wildly and dropped her pistol, the sudden recoil throwing her off balance. Robert MacCrimmon shot the Mi-Go. The creature fell to the floor but continued to writhe. Lt. Barrett stood staring in shock, uncertain what to do. General Pryce shot again and only barely missed.
OOC,Heinrich Kohl, you may fire at this time if you choose. After you fire or decide not to do so, Juliette may fire another shot if she chooses. Then Lucius gets to act. Karin, you and the Mi-Go both have DEX 14. You will need to roll 1d100 for initiative to see who goes first (lower is better). I'll roll for the Mi-Go if it survives until its turn.
Juliette Desjardins,That would actually be a Psychology roll, but it fails either way.

Brook shouts from the corner:"You bloody fools! Didn't you hear? It's in telepathic contact with the rest of the Mi-Go! They'll know what happened! Your crew's screwed if you don't stop this!"

The Roman blinked as it watched the Mi-Go get shot up in cold blood, unprovoked. He didn't have time to react or he might have tossed himself in the path of the weapons. Now the deed was done, and the creature lie there shuddering in death thralls.

Lucius clapped his hands together, "Right... all right. Very nice." He took a few steps toward the exit, "It was very nice getting to know you all, but perhaps we should be going now. Story?" He leaned in towards the other prompting likewise action, "Don't you think we should be going now?"

"Silver, MacCrimmon, stand down!" Heinrich shouts, puzzled at the General's newfound hostility towards Story and his crew as well as the apparently non-hostile alien. He points towards Brook. "Listen to the girl, General! If you continue in this course of action you're endangering the lives of not just the Persephone crew, but that of Lt.-Col. Bruce, as well... and possibly the entire station, at that!" He pulls out the taser held at his side and shrugs. "I'm likely saving us all." Heinrich dives at the general, making contact with the taser.
OOC,What's Orlova doing during this? (IE, would it require a Spot Hidden or something to see or is she still plainly visible?)

Karin throws herself at the Mi-Go aiming to knock it off the bed and out of the line of attack. This is purely instinctive; possibly due to her professional instinct to save life.

"No Lucius," says Elizabeth, watching the scene unfold in front of her. "We see this out. We try to help. We don't run away."

OOC,Lucius can't really run away, anyway. General Pryce is standing between him and the door, which is also closed - and he has no means to open it. The Mi-Go is no longer in the bed. It got up when Natalia removed its restraints, and it has since fallen down on the floor. Heinrich's taser is a contact weapon, not the kind that fires a dart, so it goes off on his turn in the second half of the round, on his DEX of 8. Natalia has a DEX of 9, so you'll see what she does before you go, but it's not her turn yet - or his, if he's not firing a gun. The general has a DEX of 10, so he'll get one more shot before you get to act. Everyone who started the round with a gun ready has fired who wants to, and now we start the second half of the round. Everyone's action takes effect in descending DEX order. First Juliette may take her second shot at DEX 17, or she may hold her fire. She's already fired one shot this round so far, so it's too late for her to switch her action to something else. After that, Lucius goes on DEX 15 and may act (he may wish to do something other than try to flee under the circumstances). Then Karin has her turn on DEX 14, followed by the Mi-Go, if it's still alive at that point. I'll post its action. Once that's done, then I'll spell out the rest of the round order.

Juliette curses herself for startling. She holds her fire, and in stead she says. "General , it is they're mind thingy. It arouses fear and turn your head into mush for a moment...Sut Alors, qu'ellle cauchemar!"
OOC gametechnical,(assuming that speaking is not considdered another action)

Colleen just watches the events play out and moves slightly toward the door. She would never prevent her General from acting, nor was she sure it was the best idea to act. He hadn't ordered her to attack, so she wouldn't. She would observe, just as she was paid to do.

Karin tried to grab the Mi-Go off of the floor, but it was too slippery. Then it began to emit a low humming, buzzing sound. A wave of calm began to wash over the occupants of the medical lab.
OOC,Speaking doesn't count as an action. As long as your statements are short, it's fine. There isn't exactly time for a long-winded speech during combat. ;) Everyone except Story (this only affects humans; Time Lords are immune) must now roll on the Resistance Table on 1d100, pitting your own POW against the Mi-Go's POW of 11. Thus, if your POW is also 11, you have a 50% chance. For every point of POW above 11 you have, this chance increases by 5 percentiles. For every point of POW below 11 you are, your chance decreases by 5 percentiles. If you fail this roll, you will not be able to act this round. If your action has not yet occurred (because your DEX is less than 14), it will not happen in this case. If you succeed, you may act normally. Story and Colleen are next, at DEX 12, though it looks like Colleen is not acting. Nobody who has DEX 13 is taking any action. Then Brook may act at DEX 11. General Pryce has DEX 10, so anyone with less DEX than that will need to wait until I post his turn.

Karin sits on the floor beside the Mi-Go calmly wiping her hands on her trousers.

Reaching the Mi-Go he looks attempts to kneel beside it, assuming there is room, and visually looks it over.
Mr. Handy,Once again looking towards the Mi-Go in his mind Story says "I'm sorry... forgive me. They lack an appreciation for things that they can't make sense of."
Story looks at Karin. "Are you okay?"

Alison's mind was strong, and she managed to resist the compulsion to hold still. So did Robert, but only just. Edward was unaffected too, and so was Brook.

Story could see that the Mi-Go was very badly injured, though he couldn't tell much about its alien physiology.
OOC,No problem! Karin failed her roll, so she's paralyzed until further notice. I still need rolls from Elizabeth, Lucius, Juliette, Colleen, and Heinrich. Brook, you may act now, but please post anyway if you're not doing anything, so I'll know to move things forward. Lucius may also make a Cthulhu Mythos roll. So could anyone at this point, but I think he's the only one with points in it.

Brook moves quickly over to the Mi Go and places herself between it and the gun toters. She also just happens to stand in front of Story, protecting him as well.

Karin continues to sit on the floor with a gentle smile on her face. She's intent on carefully cleaning her fingers and doesn't seem to hear Story.

Karin was unable to move, no matter how much she tried. General Pryce was also frozen into immobility, and so was Major Orlova.
OOC,It is now Elizabeth's turn to act (if she passes her roll). Then Juliette, if she succeeds at her roll and wishes to do so, may choose to either fire a shot or hold her fire. After that, it's Heinrich's turn if he passes his roll. If he succeeds, he may go ahead and taser the general if he still wishes to do so, or he may do something else instead.

Elizabeth resists the Mi-Go's calming effect. Her instinctive reaction is to move to the Mi-Go, so she moves to join Brook and Story beside it, hoping to prevent any more bloodshed that way.
