Is PbyP OK for people who are new to RPG?

A little area for new users to say hello if they don't want to post in the recruitment threads just yet.

Is PbyP OK for people who are new to RPG?

Post by Bethune »

I'm 'RPG curious'! :)

I've wanted to try group CofC for ages but there just isn't a group in my area that can introduce me to the game. So, I wonder, would this forum be a good place for me to get into playing CofC or is play by post an 'advanced' activity for more experienced players?

I'd appreciate any feedback, comments or advice, thank you.

I'd never played any kind of RPG before joining this forum, so I'd say it's newbie friendly!

Welcome, Bethune! I've validated you, so now you can post on the game boards. Yes, this is a great place for newbies to learn how to play! It's probably easier to play this way than around a table, it just takes more time.

Thank you so much for the positive replies...

I was hoping there was room for a 'noob'! ;)

Is there a thread or section of the forum that has 'instructions for beginners', or is it just a case of introducing myself and hoping someone with speak to me? :D

Thank you,

B

Your best bet is to jump right in. Put something in the Players Looking for Games thread :)

You're welcome! I second that advice, and you may also want to check out the Investigators Orientation Centre, which has instructions for using the dice roller and BBCode in your posts.
