Hi all,
Is there any write-up on how the in-forum die roller works? It seems strange to me. When I resubmit a post, it will re-roll? And sometimes the roll doesn't go through, and it just shows as an integer starting from 0 and going up.
I must be doing something wrong.

Re: Question on the die roller
From my experience, resubmitting a post does NOT change the die roll. This would be to prevent cheating, I suppose.
Otherwise, it always works for me. Just hit the dice button, then type in how many dice of what kind you want to roll. The format is always the number of dice, the letter d, then the number of sides on each die. No spaces.
Like this:
1d6 = one six-sided die
3d20 = three twenty-sided dice
etc.

There's a guide here - https://www.callofcthulhu.org.uk/pbp/vi ... 318&t=5318
Note that the dice results don't show up when you preview posts. You have to submit it and then edit if you want to write up the results of your roll.

viewtopic.php?p=251821#p251821
Am I doing something wrong?
[dice]1d100[/dice] all I see is '1d100' between the [dice] tags..

Re: Question on the die roller
It used to work, but an upgrade to the board in mid-March broke it, and it's gone now, including previous dice rolls, unfortunately. Carnage_lee is looking into another dice roller to replace it, and it looks good, but so far it hasn't been implemented. In the meantime, I've been using Orokos to roll dice.

Re: Question on the die roller
We have DICE!
I still need to get to grips with the ins and outs of it - for now there's a testing forum:
viewforum.php?f=485
Dice rolls are added in asimilar manner to attachments, see:
viewtopic.php?f=485&t=7442
A stand alone testing page with details on all the dice - this allows you to enter the dice notation and get the result but doesn't add it into a post. This is accessible from 'Quick Links' and the top menu under the Dice option.
