In Cabela's, in the basement-
It only took Donald a minute to pick the locks on the row of lockers.

"Thanks, nicely done," said Lucy, pulling open the doors. Two of the lockers each contained an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, and another contained a Mossberg Model 590 Mariner 12-gauge shotgun. A fourth locker held boxes of ammunition with 20 30-round magainzes of 5.56mm bullets for the AR-15s, and the final locker had boxes of 12-gauge shotgun shells with a total of 300.

Jerry whistled. "We hit the jackpot!" he said.

Donald nodded in agreement, "If it's ok with you all, I would appreciate the shot gun. It's the only weapon I'm any good at, really." He looked around for something they could use as a makeshift bag... maybe some old curtains.

In Cabela's, in the basement-
Lucy and Jerry each took a rifle and divided the ammo for them between them while Donald claimed the shotgun and boxes of shells.

There were no curtains here; anything like that would have burned up in the fire. However, the ammo was already in boxes, and those boxes could be stacked up and carried upstairs. The long guns themselves each had a strap that allowed them to be slung over the shoulder or on the back.

Donald asked the others, "Do you think we should spend any more time investigating this building, or should we leave while the gettin' is good?"

Michiko goes outside just to stretch her legs. And take a good look at the surroundings.

Outside Cabela's-
"Don't go too far," said the principal as Michiko stepped outside. The sun was getting lower in the sky to the west, and it would get dark within a few hours. There was very little to see. The entire city of Sidney had been burned out. What buildings were left standing, such as Cabela's, were fire-blackened shells.

In Cabela's, in the basement-
"Well, the whole reason we came in here at first was because there might be survivors on the roof," said Lucy. "The stairwell itself is stable. We should at least look. What do you think, Jerry?"
OOC,Corban vanished a long time ago. Kabukiman, feel free to take back Jerry Law if you like.

OOC:OK!
Jerry:
-I don't know. If there was any survivors, they would have already notice our presence. But you never know, let's make a try.

Michiko:
-Oh, don't worry, I just want to walk a little.
She look to see if there is any supermarket or a place with food.

Donald nodded as he loaded his shotgun and carried the rest of the shells as best he could, "I'd like to put these shells on the bus so I don't have to carry them about, only take a second. Then I'll be glad to help you check the rest of the place out. Maybe find a survivor or two if we're lucky."

Outside Cabela's-
Michiko looked around, but if there was a supermarket in the area, it was no longer recognizable as such, and all of its contents would have burned to a crisp. The only buildings here had either collapsed or were blackened shells of their former selves.

A few minutes later, Lucy, Jerry, and Donald emerged from the ruined building carrying their prizes. Principal Adler leaned out of the school bus door. "Looks like you've had some luck," he said.

Jerry
-Yes, but we still want to take another look to see if we find any other survivors.

Michiko:
-Can I go with you sirs?

Donald put the rest of the shells on a seat where he'd been sitting on the bus, pocketed a few more shells, and headed back towards the building. To Michiko's offer, Donald shrugged indifferently. "The building is dangerous, and might fall in on itself if we aren't careful. Could be we might fall right through the floor and land in the basement. But the more people we have, the quicker our search will be." His piece being said, he continued onward and reentered the building. This time, he started carefully and quietly walking upstairs, shotgun at the ready.

Jerry
-If we find something dangerous, just run and don't look behind.
Jerry walks with the gun ready.
Michiko nods and goes as silently as she can to avoid been a burden.

"All right, good luck," said the principal as the foursome went back into the ruined building.

In Cabela's, on the top floor, in the stairwell-
The group had to go up nine flights of stairs before coming to the top, where a metal fire door blocked access to the roof. It had been scorched by fire, but was still intact - and locked.

ooc,Stairwell doors typically lock from the inside to keep others from gaining access from the roof. Is this door locked from the inside?

OOC,It was locked from the inside, but even after unlocking it, it still refused to budge. It seemed to be jammed shut.

"Need a hand," Donald says to the others. He tries to push the door open with a little more effort, hoping that others join in. Better than throwing a shoulder into it and making all sorts of noise.

OOC,Only two people may try to force the door open at a time. If Jerry does not assist you, Lucy will. Both of them have STR 14. Whoever posts first, please make a Resistance Table roll pitting your combined STR scores of 27 against the door's (and whatever is obstructing it) STR of 20. This gives you an 85% chance of success.

In Cabela's, on the top floor, in the stairwell-
Donald and Jerry strained at the door. It took all of their combined might to force it open and shove aside the barricade that had been holding it shut from the other side. Lucy and Michiko stood behind them, watching. The door finally screeched open with the sound of tearing wood and metal, knocking aside various pieces of office furniture. Beyond the door, a stretch of roof was visible. Near the edge of the roof, about fifty feet from the door, a weary-looking woman with long, braided blonde hair stood facing the door. She wore a gray skirtsuit, and she was pointing a 12-gauge shotgun in their direction.
