The offices of Reddrup and Vosper are on Carter Lane in the shadow of St. Pauls cathedral in the heart of the city, A former town house which has been extensively renovated in a steel and chhrome style (at least downstairs in the rooms visible from the street)

Using Google and checking some legal websites Jacob confirms the following.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Michael Reddrupp embarked on a career as a Solicitor after studying law at Hull University. He joined his father’s firm as a trainee in 1981 qualifying as a Solicitor two years later specialising in commercial law. He was made Partner and Head of Litigation in 1987 in which role he acted principally in commercial litigation matters.

Gemma Vosper is the other senior partner in the law firm. She graduated with a law degree from London University in 1990, following a change of career. She became a Partner in 2003. Gemma specialises in property and employment law.

OOC: I have assumed you guys are happy using public transport - other options are for Clay to aquire a car from Long Term parking at the airport or to hire a car locally.

Clay checks on the buildings opposite the law offices. What do we have there?

Clay will inquire if there is a room they could let for the time being. Somewhere we get a good view of the front doors of law office. If not Clay will check out if the rooftop is accessable, and usable?

"Any of you guys know how to tap a phone line, that might be useful if we are going to do survelance here. Or one of us could go in as a potential client and pop a bug in their offices." Clay asks of his partners.

OOC: The house opposite the offices is a very much upmarket so even if there were apartments for rent they would be well outside your budget. However, after a walk around the block Clay is confident he can access the roof of this building via the fire escape on another. A short 'walk' across the rooftops allows Clay to determine that it does indeed provide a view of the front door to the offices as well as reasonable views into several offices.

Not sure who is with me, but I know the photographer guy wouldn't mind me borrowing one of his camera's we can take good zoom pictures. We setup on the building roof and watch for a bit photographing anyone coming or going from the law office. While we work on another plan.

OOC: Albert isn't with you, but Clay knows shops where he can get a second hand camera (he's fenced a couple in the same sort of place - not bent, it simply doesn't occur to them that a person might have stolen the camera.) and a decent lens.

We can take it in turns up on the roof if you want says Greg, but it might be better to get ourselves some sleeping bags and camp up there, then people wont see us coming and going and we wont need to answer any awkward questions. I mean its nearly July so it wont rain***

Clay picks up a tarp, food, drink an ice chest and gets them on the roof. Strings up a small shelter in case it does rain or some shade on those rare occasions the sun does shine.

We spend the day photographing anyone coming and going in the office.

After it is dark and everyone is gone for the day, I think it is time for a little B&E.

OOC: Over the course of the day Clay and Greg as well as Jacob if he is with them count a total of 15 people working at the office. Most of them have left by 17:30 and the last two leave around 19:00 leaving a large, but fairly unattentive looking security guard stuck at the front desk.

Thier offices are here.

R&V's offices are in the brick built offices on the right. Your observation point is on the building directly to the front (round window below the roof) A short walk around the block reveals all the windows are alarmed and while there may be access to the rear its the other side of a high wall.

Clay reckons he 'should' be able to bypass the security on the windows, but it wont be quick (Electronics/Electrical Repair roll with the correct kit. After that he's no locksmith (he has 01) so he'll literally have to take locks/obstacles apart (Mechanical Repair) again a time consuming exercise with the correct kit. None of this is really Clay's normal line of work, but he can do it if he has to. Alternatively, he can hang his arse on the line and see if he can get someone to do the entry work for him - at a cost.

Clay shakes his head. Breaking and Entering was never his cup of tea. He preferred the brash method of kicking in the door. He never had much of a knack for strategy. He needed help for this. Damn he was well out on a limb already in debt to his contacts. Well in for a penny, in for a pound. He makes the call.

Clay explains his circumstances to man in the know "Your not good for it anymore Clay" the voice at the other end of the line says without the slightest hesitation "Its payment upfront, or you are on your own. In addition certain parties are looking to collect on the services you received a few weeks ago. This isn't nicked cars and handbags son, your playing with big boys and they like everyone to play by their rules. I reckon you're looking at two large (£2000) the first for the help in the getting the doors open, the other to keep the wolves from the door so to speak"

I can enter and have a talk with the security guard about the place, maybe they have a flier describing the firm like high tech companies have in the reception. and I can always ask him for the contact list so I would be able to contact someone. We must find out who's the man in this charity sponsored Gossham's project. any suggestions Clay ?

We could always stage it as a robery. go masks guns, break in, hold him at gun point while we look through the files, but thats pretty rough. Let's write an email. pretend to be a gang member, saying that we found more clues and we should meet in private in a dark pub. Let's see who will come, we can pay a local courier to deliver a package with some photos we took to agitate the person.

Greg looks at Clay and then at Jacob. "Sorry I'm confused Jacob that plan doesn't make sense, why would a gang member write anonymously to these guys? Why wouldn't they just walk up and say hey I've found this out? ....And If we send them the photos that just tells them we're watching them and they just ramp up the security." Greg, thinks for few moments "But the cleaners idea might have some merit. The cleaners who work at my hospital in the states, they're all immigrants on minimum wage. Jacobs you're the persuasive type I bet with some cash off Albert's card, you could persuade them to get us in, either let us in or perhaps sneak us in with their crew?"

Clay and Jacob recognise a couple of faces in the crowd, all of whom look young enough to be fairly junior in the partnership (two women together and a man drinking alone, but who looks as though he may be waiting for someone)

OOC: This isn't the sort of place you're likely to find anyone from the cleaning company this place is full of suits, spending to much money on expensive lagers and large glasses of wine. The contract cleaners will probably arrive at the office sometime in the early evening (an hour or so from now) you'll need to hang out at the back of the offices to grab them, or if you don't want to be seen around the offices follow them around to their next job.

Jacob and Clay approach the cleaners Most of whom seem as though they are young Somalis as well as Central African, with a smattering of Poles and Kurds. They are all dressed in the same pale blue boiler suit with the company logo on the back "Quicky Clean"

Before the man can reply, a tall Somali woman in her mid thirties and dressed in the same pale blue 'Quicky Clean' boiler suit intervenes. In very smooth English "Tarik, please get on with moving the floor polisher inside." she points at a large industrial polisher then inside before turning to Jacob and Clay. " Can I help you Sir?"

The woman grabs the notes from Jacob's hand. "The Back door of the minibus will be unlocked, there are spare coveralls in the sports bag. We are going inside now, wait five minutes then come in. I don't want to see you, I will not give you an alibi so go upstairs while we clean downstairs and then if you wish to go downstairs you must wait for us to come and clean upstairs" tucking the cash into the pocket of her coveralls the woman turns and walks through the rear gate, holding it so it doesn't shut properly.

If the security guy asks you something, say nothing, like you do not understand english. I will speak in Hebrew, the chance that he will understand me and recognize the language is low ... he will think it's arabic.
We must find records, luckily, I'm quite familiar how lawyer file their files.

Once they are dressed Jacob will lead the way into the building to the second floor.

Clay and Jacob walk through the open gates and across a small yard into which have been crammed several cars and a large tree. They slip through another open doorway and into what looks like a small kitchenette. A fire door opens onto a stairwell with stairs leading upwards, another door directly in front of them looks out onto the main entrance, where the security guard can be seen trying to chat up a disinterested young receptionist as she packs up for the day.

The second door on the right opens into a large and very upmarket looking meeting room. From behind the door on the other side of the corridor Clay can hear someone moving about and the thump of a pile of papers being dropped onto a desk.

OOC: There don't seem to be any name plates on doors, the desk phones however all have names on them (there are no familiar names on the phones in the open plan office). There are also a lot of business cards lying around

Jacob and Clay open the 3rd door on the left. Behind the door is a plushly furnished room, all deep leather chairs, large oak desk and wall to wall shelves covered in law books. There are piles of papers on the desk and table.

Clay slips inside with Jacob and shuts the door behind them. He gets some cleaning supplies and puts it on the desk beside him so if anyone walked in, they could be pretending to clean. "You look at the computer, I'll go through these," he says in a hushed tone. Clay starts scanning through each of the papers looking for any of the clue words that might indicate it has anything to do with what we are working on.

Clay looks at a small pile of documents which seem to al relate to property purchases in Malta, some of the location names seem to ring bells. Most would seem to be plots of land.

OOC: Is Jacob going to start taking the PC appart. NB Jacob is surprised there is a desktop PC here, most solicitors he know invariably take their work home with them and this means having a laptop.

Clay takes a couple pictures, but his hands are shaking too much. "Oh this sucks, screw it." Clay grabs the papers in wants and shoves them into a trash bag. "These are coming with us." Clay goes over and checks any filing cabnets.

Having swept the papers into his bag, Clay takes another look around the room. Unless, he and Jacob sit down and go through the papers page by page there is nothing else obvious visible. There are none of the tall three drawer filing cabinets, Clay might expect to see in an office, there are however two large document cases (imagine a chest freezer but designed for the secure storage of documents) There is in Clay's opinion no way he could get into them without some serious tools. Jacob's seen their like in the offices of other high end solicitors and knows they are very expensive, but guarantee document security.

grabbing his bin bag Clay heads back out into the corridor, opening the second door he finds another room much like the first with perhaps a slight hint of the feminine to it. This room is distinctly neater than the first and their are no obvious loose papers hanging around.

There is a letter in the in out tray on the desk, from Alex Rudaj the only trustee for the “Kush nderton” charity who isn't also a partner in Redrupp and Vosper. The letter seems to be about administration of cash payments from charitable fund raising events being paid into the charities bank acounts. The letter gives an address in Beaconsfield an affluent market town to the NW of London.

OOC: Clay has already determined that opening these document chests require the proper tools - were not talking crowbars, were talking diamond tipped drills, angle grinders and the like. It would be silly to spend big bucks on document safes, which are easily broken into.

Unless Clay is going to enter the hall where the security guard, is the only part of the ground floor he can access are the kitchenette, the post roomand the cleaning cupboard (small room full of the cleaners gear)

Clay slips into the post room. He checks any outgoing or incoming mail for any of the names we have seen to date.

Apart from a pile of prepaid envelopes full of marketing brochures there doesn't seem to be any post in the post room (Clay's practised eye does however identify a franking machine - worth several thousand pounds to the right person)

OOC: The fact the post room is empty isn't unusual, its after hours so all post should have been sent out or delivered.

Jacob and Clay walk across the hallway where the entrance way. The security guard looks up for a moment but just nods at them as they walk past. On the other side of the entrance lobby are two large meeting rooms for high end clients (the meeting rooms look more like a lounge in a private gentleman's club all high backed leather chairs, expensive tables, book lined walls)

All is as described in my previous post. The rooms are richly furnished meeting rooms and are spotlessly clean. No loose papers or evidence of any sort.

Jacob and Clay spend as much time as they wish looking through the meeting rooms, they are uninterrupted by the security guards who seems to have bought their disguise. They don't find anything incriminating

Greg takes the wheel and slowly drives out into the mass of rush hour traffic. There are no alarms, no police and after driving about aimlessly for half an hour no sign of a tail that you can discern.

Clay and Jacob look at the papers, Clay swept into the bin bag (trash bag) The paper's contents all relate to a number of property purchases (12) in both Malta and Gozo. It does not take Jacob and Clay much time to confirm the properties include the land on which the Brichester digs are to be found as well a great deal of the property surrounding it. There is no indication in whose names Redrupp and Vosper are acting.

The other paper is fairly innocuous it is a letter from Alex Rudaj the only trustee for the “Kush nderton” charity who isn't also a partner in Redrupp and Vosper. The letter seems to be about administration of cash payments from charitable fund raising events being paid into the charities bank accounts. The letter gives an address in Beaconsfield an affluent market town to the NW of London.

"What now" says Greg over his shoulder as he crawls through the London traffic. "Stay here and try and get more out of that place or head West and join up with the others?"

Greg heads out of London and heads for the M4 and the South West. "I thought you were all for heading out to Albania to see Demarchi, whats brought the sudden change of heart?" says Greg as the trio head out onto the motorway.
