IC-SWORD-In Harm's Way(Lara Voronova/Steve/Caitlin/Sven)

Darkness now shrouds the zombie-infested land. At Warren Air Force Base, various survivors and USAF personnel try to hold out against the hordes, but will internal division tear them apart? In western Nebraska, most of the captive women have found their freedom thanks to the rangers' intervention, but two of their captors have gotten away with one of them as a hostage. Can they escape from a new horror and find a way to rescue her? And in Omaha, though the zombies are no longer a threat, danger still abounds. A large group of survivors has holed up in a school, but a band of violent juvenile delinquents, a drug-dealing gang, and others may prove a greater peril than the dead. Who will suvive the night, and who will never see the sun rise again?

Caitlin Bell,Caitlin didn't know of any skinhead groups in the area around her farm, but she did remember that there were some in Montana. In particular, there was a large group of them only a few miles away from her uncle's ranch.

Caitlin nods to Lara's opening up a bit, wishing she could say it, but no words seem to leave her lips. So much has happened today. So much has happened...

"So, who are at the farm? An uncle or many friends?" The ride was going to be a long one and she´d like to know what she could be driving into. "Are you OK, mister?" She asks Sven as the man was surely distressed after the incidents with the creatures.

Caitlin Bell,Caitlin's Uncle Jake and Aunt Mary owned the ranch. In addition to them, her cousin Clyde and his wife Veronica would hopefully be there too. They also worked on the ranch.

Sven stares out of the truck into space, lost in thought. He looks up at Lara when she speaks, snapping out of his reverie.

"Oh, sorry. I'm fine... thanks. I have no idea where we're going, but it can't be worse than going back, right?"

On the road-
The truck continued on its long journey to the northwest for a couple more hours, driving across Montana towards Caitlin's uncle's ranch, which wasn't far from the Canadian border. The eastern sky was just starting to get tinged with false dawn, and they were less than forty miles from their destination now. The road they were currently on wound its way through a steep valley that rose up on both sides.

Keeping her eyes on the road, as far away as the head lights reach, as her father had taught her in Moscow, Lara is totally committed to what´s on the road, paying no attention to the sides of the steep descent.

OOC,Sorry, I totally missed you posting. I've been kind of brain dead the last few weeks. End of semester, exams and classes and all that. I should be more on the ball in a couple weeks when I'm done with all that.

On the road-
Lara quickly brought the truck to a halt well before the rockfall, which she still couldn't see from here. There was no way to drive off the road here, as the sides of the valley were too steep, but she had passed a turnoff a short distance back at the entrance of the valley and could easily get back there. Caitlin knew her way around and had access to the maps, and she would have no problem finding an alternate route.
OOC,A Drive Auto roll would only have been necessary if everyone had failed the Spot Hidden roll, but I gave you a check in the skill anyway. The base skill is 20%, by the way, not 25%.

Lara nods. "Take the turn-off back there." She double-checks it on the map and mutters, "As long as graboids don't come up from the ground..." as she checks a new route. "From all these detours, we will probably need to fuel up the truck before we arrive."
