IC-OMAHA-Urban Wasteland(Jack Brunner only)

Darkness now shrouds the zombie-infested land. At Warren Air Force Base, various survivors and USAF personnel try to hold out against the hordes, but will internal division tear them apart? In western Nebraska, most of the captive women have found their freedom thanks to the rangers' intervention, but two of their captors have gotten away with one of them as a hostage. Can they escape from a new horror and find a way to rescue her? And in Omaha, though the zombies are no longer a threat, danger still abounds. A large group of survivors has holed up in a school, but a band of violent juvenile delinquents, a drug-dealing gang, and others may prove a greater peril than the dead. Who will suvive the night, and who will never see the sun rise again?

IC-OMAHA-Urban Wasteland(Jack Brunner only)

Post by Mr. Handy »

Z-Day - 6:10 PM Central Time - Near Brooks High School, Omaha, Nebraska
In the street-
Jack looked around him. The inner city neighborhood around the disabled RV was deserted. Everything was eerily quiet now that the infected had somehow been killed. He still didn't understand how it had happened. All he knew was that he was alive while his entire family was dead - dead by his hands. He still wasn't sure what to do with himself now.

Deeply depressed and burdened by what happened, especially in light of the fact that he could have saved some of his family now that the infected were dead, he pondered why the infected dropped and the electronics stopped working. There was still power and some devices worked like flashlights, but anything with microchips didn't. Thinking like this helped take his mind off the reality of what the world now was and what he had done. He was so deep in thought and his troubles he almost missed seeing...

As for why the electronics stopped working and how was it tied into the infected suddenly dieing? He was just completely at a loss to figure out why. It was just too hard to keep any coherent, logical thought together right now.
OOC,I would have asked what you would have that rolled against, but with that roll it wouldn't have mattered in the least.

OOC,Actually, that would have been an Idea roll. Also, not all flashlights will work under the circumstances. Give me a Luck roll to see if yours does.
In the street-
Jack caught a glimpse of two people walking his way about a block distant, a man and a woman. Both wore suits and ties.

Luckily his flashlight works just fine.

Jack makes certain that his pistol and shotgun are loaded first and then looks for places to take cover behind and hide if need be. He waits till they are close enough to hear a load voice, but not a shout and says "Who are you?". Ready to shoot if they are some other type of infected or just violent humans.
OOC,I'm assuming from what I read from Chater One, that it was an electromagnetic pulse that knocked out the electronics and zombies. An EMP would only take out electronics with microproccesors and microchips. Cheap flashlights would work, but any fancy ones (like the LED types) wouldn't. You're most basic stuff would still work, including cars up till the early 70's.

OOC,Yes, that's exactly right. Since you critically succeeded at your Luck roll, the flashlight you have is a hefty kind that can also double as a small club. Jack, you are moving to the thread linked below. Please do not read the posts above the one in the link.
