Zoe smacked the rifle butt against the glass, but it didn't break--merely vibrated.

Feeling the tremor, terror washed over Sally: "We don't have time to get the other truck started! It's coming and if we're sitting here when it arrives, we 're all dead! We have to leave; now!"

Dan has his AK-47 raised and is scanning the darkness but can't see or hear anything.

While Sally is not able to spot anything in the blackness of the night, she does hear something.

Beginning to panic: she sprints back to the others.

OOC,The above comment was for [b]Sally[/b], who hasn't actually taken any action yet. [b]Zoe[/b] has already acted this round (trying to break the window), so she can't go anywhere until next round.

"Everyone get in!" yells Dan as he feels the ground shake. "What is it?"


OOC, I apologize for my several screwups,(i.e. gesturing at Katarina as opposed to Raquel, thinking it was the van as opposed to the truck)

Julie was going to go get her arrow but when the shaking started she quickly forgot about that and ran back to the truck jumping inside the cab

Outside the farmhouse-
Katarina stood outside the trucks, unable to see what the commotion was about, though she did hear something. Julie dived into the green truck's shotgun seat while Dan got behind the wheel. She couldn't see anything either, but her hearing was able to pick out something. There was room for one more in the cab if she slid over.

Zoe whacked the white truck's window with her rifle butt; however, it failed to break the glass.

Sally and Raquel were still in the bed of the green truck. It was too dark for Raquel to make out much. but there was nothing wrong with her ears. When Sally hesitated, Raquel took the bandages and tried to patch herself up, but she wasn't having much luck.

The tremor began to get stronger, culminating in the sound of the earth rupturing somewhere!

Everyone but Zoe and Dan,The sound came from the direction of the ranger station.

OOC,[b]Dan[/b], you may drive away once the others get into the truck. Make sure you specify which direction you're driving. The ranger station is back to the southeast. The van had left going south down the road from there.

OOC,You'll have to be more specific from that. Where are you running? Which direction? Are you getting back in the green truck? Heading into the farmhouse? Back towards the ranger station? Somewhere else?

As soon as everyone is in Dan is taking off down the road South, unless he discovers that the erupting is coming from that direction.

"It's at the ranger station, to the south!" Sally yelled. "Go the opposite direction and fast!"

Sally begins to work on Racquel's wounded arm but is just not able to help her while bouncing around in the bed of the truck.

OOC,The ranger station is to the southeast, not the south.

Katarina gets back into the truck, whimpering slightly and chewing on her fingernails. She has the horrible feeling that they may be too late.

Zoe runs towards the others in the truck.
"Hey! Wait for me."

Julie moved over enough to let someone else inside

Outside the farmhouse-
Zoe reached the truck first and got into the shotgun seat when Julie slid across to the middle, leaving Katarina to get into the back with Sally and Raquel. Once everyone was aboard, Dan pulled out with a screech of tires. The road leading south was some fifty yards to the east, but the fastest way to it was southeast, towards the ranger station. Instead, he drove due south into the woods to bypass the station, as the pickup truck was a good off-road vehicle. He couldn't go so fast with the occasional tree in his path and the encroaching darkness, but he managed a good pace. When he felt he was far enough past the ranger station, he swung around to the southeast to get back onto the road before heading south again. Sally tied a tourniquet around Raquel's upper arm, but she wasn't able to sew up the bite wound.

After about a mile, an intersection loomed ahead. The dirt road continued south, and another road went east and west from there. Dan brought the pickup truck to a halt.

OOC,[b]Sally[/b], you may not try First Aid on [b]Raquel[/b] again for a while. [b]Katarina[/b], you may try if you wish. The base chance is 30%. Anyone who isn't busy trying to do something else may roll Track to try to figure out which way the skinheads' van went. The base chance is 10%.

Dan Aldrich,[b]Dan[/b] suddenly felt that he was unable to go any further, which was why he had needed to stop the truck. No matter how hard he tried, he just could not bring himself to get any further from the ranger station.
