Appearance:
Andrei has blonde hair and fair skin. His eyes seem a little too small, and his piercing blue eyes can make some people feel uncomfortable. He most often has a serious flat expression on his face, making it difficult to tell what he's thinking. He is a massive man (over 6'2") with a heavy build - its hard to ignore or take lightly someone his size.
Andrei was always taught to wear the best clothes to make an impression. He always wears clean, pressed trousers, a button-up shirt. He has a wardrobe of the most fashionable and appropriate hat, jacket and boots for any occasion. One gets the sense that this big man does not fit the fancy clothes. It looks like he should be brawling and drinking instead of speaking politely about business.
Personality:
Andrei is an introvert. In a group, he will often listen silently. He is quiet and observant, and very good at reading peoples' true emotions and intentions. Even when slient, his large bulk makes him hard to ignore. When he does speak, his voice booms with exagerrated confidence.
He is a lot more comfortable talking to people one-on-one. In these situations, he speaks more softly, smiles, and seems to be more himself. He is pleasant man to be alone with, but can be aggressive and confrontational in a group.
Andrei is known for his bouts of moodiness. When he gets snappy and quiet, leave him alone. He is also very proud. Andrei doesn't like to admit that he doesn't know something.
Background:
Andrei Zaitsov is the son of a Russian noble. He lived a protected life under dominating father, learning the rules of Boyar etiquette, and noble pastimes like croquet, hunting, dancing and socializing. He would have preferred to play sports, but Andrei's father forced him into expensive private schools, where he learned french and english, accounting and law.
With Russian entry into the Great War, Andrei was thrilled with the prospect of fighting on the front lines. However, his overbearing father would have nothing of it. Andrei was trained as an officer, and spent his time planning marching routes and requisitioning supplies.
Andrei still feels like he hasn't had a chance to prove his manliness, and wonders if his chances of adventure are gone forever.
The communist revolution forced Andrei to flee the country with his sister, Miryana. The noble Boyar class was hunted and prosecuted, and their future was doomed. Andrei's father gave him a chest of the family riches, making him promise to return and reassert their nobility once "this silly communism idea goes away."
Andrei and Miryana fled to France, where he met Elizabeth Downing. Enthralled by her independance and wild side, he moved to her hometown of New York. He is trying to build a financial empire (the american equivalent to "nobility"), but so far his investments have been unsuccessful. He would never tell anyone this.
Deep in his soul, Andrei would like to give up the noble pretensions and live a more bohemian life. He may never realise this consciously, though.
Family members:
Miryana: sister, lives in Paris.
Father and mother: Living in Siberia, stripped of their riches. (Doing quite well rebuilding some money, but their letters to Miryana and Andrei are filled with complaints of poverty.)

EQUIPMENT:
At home, Andrei will only have his clothes with him, and a leather wallet. Sometimes he carries a small penknife.
When he travels, Andrei packs a trunk of clothes.
Andrei kept his two Russian Standard-Issue weapons, and has them stored in a trunk in his flat. These are:
Mosin-Nagant Rifle with
Bayonet (equivalent to a .30 Lever-Action Rifle)
.44 Officer's Revolver: Andrei loved this pistol, and trained with it during the Great War. He wouldn't think of taking it out of its trunk anymore though.
