OOC: Chapter 2 - LONDON, Starts 28th Jan 1925

At long last the Stars are almost Right. Soon Nyarlathotep's plans will come to fruition. Then the world will be changed irrevocably -- but not quite yet. Pesky human investigators have learned much, but can they survive long enough to make sense of what they know?

Yes, Imme, many congratulations and well wishes!

I'm kind of thinking that Caroline may switch to the other Rukov . . .

:D Congratulations Imme! :D

Sorry for not posting yesterday, I had all my posts planned out, but ended up being a little busier than expected.

I'll try to find some time for summary writing tonight, to get everyone up to date.

Thanks, everyone! :)
(and yes, a wedding between Christmas and New Years is pretty crazy, but finding a date that worked with everyone's schedule was a bit of a mess ...)

Well, we are devilishly handsome twins! You could just two-time them and state you couldn't tell the difference!

One has a larger "package" than the other, if you catch my drift. Should be easy to tell apart.
Spoiler:
With the carpet, the Browning Automatic Rifle and all that jazz.
:D

Oh boy, how did we get into this?

Hi everyone, happy new year! :D

Sorry I've not been posting during the holidays, I've not really been online at all.

I'm back in work on Tuesday, so my normal lunchtime and evening posting should resume then. I'm hoping to try and get through this chapter by the middle of the year, we have quite good momentum with the current threads, even if you might not realise. ;)

I hope you had a fantastic wedding day Imme. :D

Sounds good, Raiko.

From my perspective, if I don't have a reason to post 1-3 times per week, I tend to forget about the forum and get out of the habit of checking in. I think there needs to be steady progress on the game for a while if we're going to gather the momentum to keep it going. I already find myself drifting away from it.

I've played wargames (complex boardgames) online for over a decade now, and I find that 1-2 posts per week is the minimum necessary to keep things from petering out. It's very rare that I've played a game with replies less frequent than that that hasn't died out... and that's only dealing with two players! Multiplayer games are much tougher to keep going if the momentum dies.

Just a thought.

That's fair enough. I'll be back posting to again tomorrow. :)

I'd anticipated that I'd be able to post during the holidays, but that turned out to be a mistake. Other than for the occasional busy week, I should be able to post daily in any thread that's waiting for me to post so I don't think there will be a problem keeping momentum at the moment. Once everyone's back from Christmas & weddings anyway. :)

The difference I think with pbp RPGs from Board / Wargames is the reliance on the Keeper or DM or whatever. Most of the games that have died on here, or on other forums that I visit, die because the Keeper vanishes. I'm not planning to do that again, and I'm determined to keep the momentum going. So hopefully I can keep you interested for long enough to learn Andrei's fate. :)

Ok everyone now has an IC post to look at. I realise that some of you will still be on your Christmas break, and that Imme is likely on her Honeymoon, so I'll be patient for the next week or so, but I'll reply ASAP whenever anyone posts.

What games/periods do you play? I used to have loads of wargames, but none of my friends were interested enough to play anything that took more than a couple of hours to play, so I binned most of it years ago. :(

I agree, when the pace starts to slip, people start to log in less & less, which causes the pace to slip even more.
Now, obviously for holidays and whatnot, it's to be expected. I was surprized you expected to post on regular basis during the holidays. ;)

PS: Holding off to post, since it's Caroline that notices things first. I'll allow her to act first.

Hey guys, I'm back. I had a wonderful time, thanks :) We're taking a honeymoon later so I'm online again now. Looking forward to momentum in the game again.
