I'm back, posted last night. Although I wrote that she has left the building, if one of you has any last question for Miss Hirt, I'll let you follow her out to the cab.

I'm going to let your characters discuss things before I post again to develop their lines of inquiry. To the extent that they go off on individual pursuits, I'll post individual threads. I'll probably post those as private and the individual characters will have to report their findings when they re-convene. I'd prefer that you work on it as a team, but if anyone wants to go lone wolf, I'll accommodate that.

John/Franky, while I was away I read most of Dennis Lehane's The Given Day. It's mostly about the Boston Police Department in 1918-1919. You might enjoy the background for Franky, although I think the NYPD was more advanced by that time. There are a few terms that strike me as anachronistic, but otherwise it's a good glimpse at the period.

Hope everyone is enjoying it so far. ;)

Excellent. I've read most of his stuff but not that one.

Don't know if anyone else is having problems or not, but I stopped getting email notifications from the site a couple days ago...

It seems like those email notifications are often unreliable.

Watch out for the Reviews From R'lyeh at the end of Yog Radio 39. Pookie reviews the book in which we find our current scenario. While he doesn't spoiler it too much, it does give a hint of what is to come.

I don't think you have enough booze to get Franky involved in something like that...

Langdon/Sam/jabonko emailed to say he is having loading issues with Play@YSDC and Y-SdC. He'll be back as soon as he gets that resolved.

I noticed we hadn't had any activity. I wanted to make sure that I hadn't offended anyone!

I am not mad about Det. Esposito's actions. In fact, I realllllllly liked them from a narrative standpoint. They make sense, are in character, etc. But Langdon hates it! He feels he has a duty to the citizens, and in this case it means finding the missing person. Det. Esposito also has a sense of duty to the citizens. The conflict between these perceived duties is great stuff.

Just wanted to clear that up. OOC: not angry. IC: grrr!

At this point, I'm waiting for Dex to talk to Langdon and for Delores to reply to Franky's request.

I also need to know whether Dex is going back to Hirt's neighborhood tonight. (And if Langdon is going with him.)

Otherwise, I'm ready to proceed into Saturday evening and Sunday.

Generally, I monitor the game multiple times each day for new posts.

Hmmm I was waiting for Langdon to notice I was running after him...oh well, I'll just post something to get things going.

Regardless of what Langdon does, Dex will head back to Hirt's apartment and "let himself into the building" but not the apartment. But that depends on what he finds there.

I also realized Dex left all three books on the table. I'll say he grabbed one, and left the other two for Delores. Gaffer, let me know which one he managed to run out the door with.

Ohh and I am enjoying things immensely. Hope I didn't offend anyone OOC, but IC, be as angry as you wish.

Let's say Dex grabbed Devil Worship: The Sacred Books and Traditions of the Yezidiz by Isya Joseph (1919). At 224 pages it'll take him about 5 hours to read. It's fairly modern in language, but pretty mystical and obscure in style.

So, feeling homesick at all, Rod? :)

I remember shoveling snow in the huge 1996 blizzard when I was living in Newark, DE. I don't want to do that again. Besides, I saw enough snow when I was in DE and Maryland at Xmas time. Brrr. My blood has certainly thinned since I lived in the northeast, and especially since I did my undergrad days in Montreal.

Shit! I had no idea the next threads started up, and in the sweep of life I lost track of time. I definitely still want to play. Many apologies for the delay. I will try to get on either later today or tomorrow to make a catch-up post.

Gaffer, Dex, I got an email saying you sent me messages, but I don't see the messages in my inbox. If you need to contact me, feel free to use my email address. I believe it's posted in my YSDC profile (Jabonko)
