Do you want me to take over Tschhh? If you have some ideas about how you would like to play him (what his private plans, goals, likes, and dislikes are), you can send them to me by p.m. and I'll use them to run him until you can get back. Alternatively, I could find a way to have him busy doing something safe and boring outside of the plotline until you are ready to resume (at which point he would rejoin the investigators).

Either way, I would rather that you finished making your arrangement with Argyle first, but I understand if the work is too much.

Some posting expectations for everyone - I expect posts about every other day. More frequent posting is even better, but I cannot always post daily, so that would be a bit hypocritical. On the weekends, I tend to be away from my computer, so my post rate might slow down - but not always.

If, like kabukiman, there is a reason you cannot post, just mention it here.

As a result of conversations by p.m., I will now be Keepering Tschhh until Kabukiman returns.

Sorry about the delay - I've been a little busy and I thought I might wait for Argyle to say something (not that it was really expected by the situation).

Sorry about the long break...this was Columbus Day weekend in the U.S., a holiday usually celebrated by everyone getting together and talking about what a terrible person Columbus was. :?

But now I can get to the game. :)

Yes, since he didn't put any points into it. Which reminds me, I think there were still some things left to be ironed out about Tschhh's skills.

What things?

Re: OOC Discussion

by Mi-Go Agent
You posted a draft, we talked about it, and, I think, the last thing you said about it was:
About Paleontology, your right, natural history would be enouth. I didn't include history because all the history he knows is from his own civilization who died millions of years ago.
Weather report is to predict the weather. I was trhinking of using poison as a skill, since he would be able to make his own poisons (and that's more dificult than people usually thinks), but I can drop it for medicine.
I was using the spells from Innsmouth book. Each spell of weahtor control only allowed one change of wathor (so, in a sunny day I could make appear some clouds; in a day with with clouds I could make appear lot's of clouds, in a day with lot's of clouds I could make it rain or snow, but never in a day with sun could I make rain).
...and later I mentioned that, on second thought, a Craft: Poison skill would actually work fine, although in CoC no skill rolls are necessary to succesfully poison someone if you have the poison.

This represents some significant changes to his skill sheet.

Sorry about my little unnanounced hiatus. I was getting pretty busy, and since Mr. Handy's absence evidently halted or slowed every game I'm in (except Helluland, which is already glacial), I've found it hard to get onto the forums. The fifty percent login chance doesn't help.

But I'm back!

I've been talking in private with kouchpotato recently about his character. His current spells aren't too exciting, and they aren't going to lead to fun gameplay, so I'm allowing him to revise them and make them more powerful. The first change he's making is to switch "Find minerals" for a general-purpose blessing of translation, and there will be more.

A question about my skills: can I change paleonthology by fast talk or Psychology? Or something more esoteric like reading the future from a victim guts (it would neet to be a rational being, not an animal) 8-)

Psychology might work. I'm still not too clear on the link between ice-priests and humans, though - are they evolutionary ancestors?

Thanksgiving is coming up here in the States, and so my posting is going to become somewhat more unpredictable. Between Wednesday and next Monday, I may or may not be able to regularly post, although I'll give it a good try.

No, they there are a simians who evoluted to a thing similar to humans, millions of years before (like an uncle) and then disapeared. So they are related to humans like pongids, gorillas and other simians.

Or maybe I should get another skill: I'm thinking in craft, with the art of making manuscripts from skin (human skin, in this case).

I think I should have choose something weirder, like a shogoth, I'm playing my character not as a monster but as a cultist, my error. But the campaign is fun.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. It is both experimental and the first pbp game I've run, so it has been a bit of a learning experience for me.

I'm very busy this week, so I'm probably not going to be able to update.

Wow, Mr. Kabukiman. I thought "Freeze Water" would be good for crossing ponds, impressing people, and maybe messing with machinery. I didn't see its offensive use at all. But, hey, we're all about 60% water, and this is the Cthulhu Mythos.

Good RPing with the dreams, too - that has to be best RPing I've seen with a sleeping character.

Thanks! It's a question of being creative. The best use of a combination of spell was in AD&D: a mage made a spell of creating water in the ground where a group of goblins were, and then an electricity spell. The GM was speechless, because the fight was supposed to be a bloody one, not take just 2 turns.
About the dream, I got the idea from a TV show from the 80's called V-The final battle, when you see a lizard man eating a rat alive. I was young it really impress me.

It's funny, but the SciFi channel (I refuse to use their name's new silly spelling) is running a V marathon today, and I'm watching The Final Battle right now.

That was a great idea to use Freeze Water in that way. It might not have been MP efficient, but it was certainly cool. Cold, even.

Wel, in Portugal they didn't finish the show, so I never discovered what happened in the end (they have the bad habit in Portugal to just put half the programmes in TV and then change for another show).
It was an insane idea, but my character isn't exactly a very normal character

Hi! I have talked with Mr Handy and I would like to continue this scenario as a keeper until Mi-Go agent appears. Old players interested, please sign here. I have post an announcement to new players in the section "games looking for players".

I'm in, of course, playing Y'nkee (AKA Walter Gilman).

You might want to describe the game in your announcement. You'll attract more players if they know what the game is about.

Well, what's your opinion of the game? What would you change?
I have some self-criticism to make: since I ignored what Mi-Go agent had in mind, I had to invent from scratches and some of the things I made up, didn't make much sense, even if they seem great ideas when I thought of them. Not having much time didn't help either. I had an aditional idea, but I decide to not use it, since it would expand too much the game and this was suppose to be a one shot.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed.

Thanks, I did have fun.

One thing I'd change would have been to make it longer. It did seem to wrap up rather quickly. I'm sure there must have been a lot more to what was going on. Did Mi-Go Agent tell you what was planned for the rest of the adventure, or did you have no choice but to come up with your own story?

Yes. Thanks for running the game.

I invented my own; I never talked with Mi-go.

Yeah, it was more dificult to play a non human than I thought at the beggining.

Yes, it is more difficult, but it has been helpful for running my own games. Now I can better get into the heads of Mythos creatures and understand how they think and what motivates them. This game has certainly helped me better run the ghouls in The Terror Out of Time, for instance, though those ghouls are somewhat different. The ghouls of London (and of Europe in general) tend to be more sophisticated than their American cousins.

Hopefully, he's just very busy. That's why he withdrew from Zombie Apocalypse after Chapter 6 ended.
