A shadowy figure rifling through the bookshelves, previously unseen by Mark, punches him in the gut.

Mark quickly kicks him in the groin and then clubs him over the head with the butt of his shotgun, sending him sprawling to the floor, unconscious. Searching the body, Mark finds a book that his assailant had taken from the shelves.

OOC,I'll place the clue on the Agent of the King. It flips to the doom side. It will postpone the agenda advancing one turn, but there's no way to prevent it, as I don't have enough actions to both reach and kill him. Still, I think it's better to delay that one turn. Now we need two more clues to advance the act. I think you should go first and try to do that so that I'll see what needs doing on my turn.

Mark looks startled as the door to the office opens and a man says "Excuse me! Can I help you?" Mark instinctively whirls around and raises his shotgun, only to sheepishly lower it when he sees that it's a frail, elderly, bespectacled man.

"Sorry about that," Mark says. "I'm Mark Harrigan. I thought for a second you were another of them. I'm glad I didn't shoot you."

"That makes two of us. I'm Mr. Peabody, curator of the Historical Society. I'll help you find what you are looking for, but only if you tell me what this is all about once we get there."

"Deal. These fellows were obviously looking for something in your office. I need to find out what it was." With Mr. Peabody's help, he begins to search the shelves. Once he finds what he's looking for, he heads out into the hallway, having heard more noise downstairs.
