Thanks! I was thinking of killing the rats myself with the Derringer and hopefully getting rid of Cursed Luck again. Of course, if I don't spend an extra action engaging them first, I risk hitting you. If I do take out the rats, that gives you more actions to investigate in one of the rooms, and you get to keep Lucky!, which may help then.

A flood of rats rushes them from down the darkened hallway, heading right for Wendy. Sefina blasts one of them with her derringer, turning it into a smear of red. The rest of the vermin flee. "Let's spread out and search for Dr. Morgan," she says. "We haven't got much time." She and Leo explore one of the doors off of the hallway.

"Very dead," says Sefina, ducking through the door. "This is the VIP lounge, all right, but it's deserted, and there are signs of a struggle. What could have happened to Dr. Morgan?" She shines her flashlight around, but the batteries flicker and die before she manages to find anything. However, even in the dark, her keen eyes pick out the details...was that blood on the broken glass?

Awesome! 8-) We now only need one more clue, and I should be able to grab it at the start of next turn, provided there isn't any nasty surprise in the Mythos phase. Using Perception got me another Perception, which is exactly what I need for that. I don't even mind not being able to get a card and resource in the Upkeep phase.

I think I should go first. That way I can find that last clue and we can advance the act right away. Then we'll have the rest of our actions to make progress toward winning. I can evade the thug myself if needed, or even use Blinding Light.

"I lost the thug in the hall, he shan't follow me in here," said Wendy. "I hope I did the right thing?"

That was my thought too. The appearance of new enemies makes that more complicated, but I think we can still make it work, especially since parleying and resigning don't trigger attacks of opportunity. You'd have to go first. You can spend two actions moving to the Back Alley, taking the Swarm of Rats and O'Bannion's Thug with you, and then resign. The rats will hit you twice for a total of 2 damage, and the thug will hit you once for 2 damage. As long as you can take 4 damage and remain standing, you can escape. On my turn, I'll still have four actions. Even after taking over Dr. Morgan and losing Leo, as long as he's in play at the start of my turn, I get an additional action this turn. Next turn is another matter, but if this works, we won't have to worry about it. For my first action, I'll parley with Dr. Morgan, committing Unexpected Courage and Blinding Light. I'll only fail on tentacles. If I succeed, I can use my second action to move to the Darkened Hall, move to the Back Alley as my third action (I'll take 2 damage and lose 2 resources), and resign with my fourth and final action. If I do get tentacles, I'll have to evade the Mobster and then play Sneak Attack instead, then try again to parley.
