IC-SWORD-Medical Emergency(Sally/Katarina)

In the guard room-
Sally entered the guard room from the corridor right behind Doc to find Mutt there waiting for her. He now wore a backpack and a second belt. Two other skinheads were present. One of them looked very much like Mutt. The other was a middle-aged man lying on the floor with an obviously broken right leg, gritting his teeth in agony. His jaw that had already been crudely bandaged. She also saw an absolutely beautiful woman standing nearby. She was petite with red hair, and she wore a stunning little black dress. She smiled when she saw Sally.

The room itself was small, with a desk positioned with its back to the corridor from which they had just emerged. The desktop had several magazines scattered upon it. There was another hall at the opposite end of the room, as well as a closed door on the left wall. A red light bulb above the door glowed.

"Good to see you again, Sally," said Mutt. "Here's Hitch. This big guy is my brother Jeff, and this very lovely woman is Katarina. Katarina, I'd like you to meet Sally, our new nurse. And the guy with her is Doc. I don't think you've met him yet either."

"Is very nice to meet you," said Katarina with an eastern European accent. "Your hair, it so beautiful, Sally. I glad you not have to shave it off like the men do." She stared at the nurse's broken leg. "Oh, my! That looks like it hurt. Is everybody breaking leg today?"

"Sure seems like it," said Doc, kneeling over Hitch and opening his medical bag. "Let's have a look at your leg. Does this hurt?" He touched the other skinhead's right thigh.

"Aaugh!" cried Hitch, his voice with a German accent. "Scheisse!"

"Oh, don't be such a baby, Hitch. Sally's got a broken leg too, and you don't hear her bitching and moaning, do you?"

Hitch forced a smile for Sally. "Hello, liebchen," he managed. "You look like an angel. You should be a movie star."

"Well, let's get to work, Sally. We'll put a splint on to start with, then bring him down to the medical lab for a proper cast."

OOC,[b]Sally[/b], roll First Aid to help put a splint on [b]Hitch[/b]'s broken leg. If you succeed, roll 1d3 to see how many HP he regains.

"Nice to meet you to, Katrina." Sally said and gave the woman a warm smile. "My leg does hurt a bit, but I'm managing with it."

"Okay, Hitch, let's have a look." Sally examined the wound, assessing it not to see how bad it was, but to see if she could use the wound to further injure Hitch.

OOC: Sally is looking to see if perhaps if she could accidently severe an artery or something while setting the leg to cause Hitch to bleed out internally or something.

" Hitch is a big guy." Sally said to Mutt and his brother. "Can the two of you look to see if you can get a stretcher or something to carry old Hitch here to the med lab? With my leg all broken up,I am not going to be able to help Doc move him."

[Spoiler-Button] Sally does not want to heal Hitch. Can she automatically fail her roll without being obvious about it?[/spoiler-button]

OOC,Yes, you can choose to automatically fail your roll. Of course, [b]Doc[/b] is still trying his best. People will notice that you failed, but not that you did so on purpose. Actually trying to injure him further might be noticed, however. If you want to try, roll Conceal (the base skill is 15%). If you fail, the others will get Spot Hidden rolls to see if they can tell what you're up to.

In the guard room-
Sally could tell that Hitch was still near death, and it wouldn't take much to push him over the brink. He had been shot in the jaw, but his leg injury was the worst. The break was above the knee in his case, and there was a darkened splotch on his thigh that suggested internal bleeding. If his femoral artery could be breached, he would bleed to death quickly. The problem was that with everyone else around it would be very hard to do so without someone noticing. She could easily cause him intense pain, even without trying.

"I wouldn't dream of making you carry him," said Mutt. "I'll help Doc lug him down to the medical lab."

"I'll go get something from the mess hall," said Jeff. He headed down the hall that Sally hadn't explored yet. There was a metal door on the left and a wooden door on the right, but he walked past both of them. Beyond them were two wide open doorways, one on each side, and he went into the one on the left. There was another room at the end of the hall, but it was too far away to make out details from here.

"I hope we be friends, Sally," said Katarina.

Doc managed to fashion a makeshift splint. Hitch was doing somewhat better now, but he was still in very bad shape. "Okay, that's the best we can do here. Once Jeff gets back with the stretcher we can bring him down to the lab."

"Yes, I would like to get to know you a well, Katarina." Sally said to her with a smile. "It would be great to have another female to chat with while we all whether the storm down here."
Sally decided it best not to intentionally damage Hitch while everyone here looked on. She would have to wait until she as alone before she could do that.

[Mr. Handy]

In the guard room-
"Yes, I like that too," said Katarina. She then turned her eyes on Doc. "Is nice to meet you too, Doc. You so handsome. How come you never visit me?"

Doc cleared his throat. "I, ah, didn't think it would be appropriate," he said.

Katarina touched his arm. "Well, I would like for you to come see me sometime." He pulled back slightly, and she looked confused. "What wrong? You no think I'm beautiful?"

"No, you're very beautiful, Katarina. It's just that I'm spoken for."

She pouted. "Too bad. You ever change your mind, I be there."

Jeff returned from the hall carrying a small metal table with legs that were folded up into it. "Here we go," he said, setting it down beside Hitch. "Doc, give me a hand here."

Sally looked to Katrina some what confused. 'Interesting' she thinks to herself.
Sally stands back as the men work to put Hitch on the make shift stretcher. As she does, she scans the room to get a better idea of what goes on here.

[Mr. Handy]

In the guard room-
As near as Sally could tell, this room was used as a guard room. The only pieces of furniture were the desk and a metal folding chair behind it. The surface of the desk was covered with magazines. Most of the magazines were porn, but she also noticed an issue of Variety. She didn't know what was in the room to the side, behind the closed door, but there was a lit red bulb above it. What could that mean?

Doc and Mutt picked up Hitch. He groaned as they placed him on top of the table. Then they hoisted it up. "Okay, let's get him to the lab," said Doc.

"I can come too?" asked Katarina.

"Sure," said Mutt. "I'm always pleased with your company."

Sally looked at the bulb and had and idea as to it's purpose.

OOC: Sorry about the mistake. I did my not my sheet handy and I thought I recalled it being 70.

"So, Katrina, how long have you been down here with everyone? You seem to have an accent that I cannot place, where is it from?"

In the guard room-
Katarina smiled at Sally and took her arm to help her walk, following the others into the corridor leading back to the elevator. "I from Romania," she said. "I been here several months. Up top at first, then I move down here. Where you from, Sally?"

"Wow, Romania is a very long ways off. Sounds exciting." Sally said to Katarina as the two walked down the hall.
OOC: Where is Mutt during all of this? Walking next to us, behind us or in front of us?

[Mr. Handy]

In the corridor-
Doc led the way, walking backwards while carrying his end of the table on which Hitch lay. Mutt held the other end, walking forwards. Katarina and Sally followed along behind them, and Jeff brought up the rear.

"Is beautiful country," said Katarina. "Is funny, but I always thought America would be more exciting when I live in Romania."

"The rest of you go on ahead," said Jeff. "I'll stay up here and keep an eye on things." He remained in the hall while Doc and Mutt carried Hitch toward the shower room at the other end of the hall.

Sally is unable to hear anything as she walk along behind Doc and Mutt.
Sally slows her walk a little, wincing due to the pain in her broken leg. After a quiet grunt of pain she says to Katarina in a joking manner: "I don't know....things are pretty exciting up there now, eh?"

[Mr. Handy]

In the corridor-
"That's right, you said there was storm," said Katarina. "They said there lots of tornadoes in these parts. Is that what happen?"

"Yeah, that's right," said Mutt. "It's a tornado. Nothing to worry your pretty little head about, Katarina. We're all perfectly safe from it down here." He and Doc led the way into the shower room, carrying Hitch. Katarina helped Sally along behind them, while Jeff remained in the corridor.

In the shower room-
Katarina looked around her as she guided Sally through the shower room toward the radar control room, letting the other woman lean on her. "So, Sally, tell me about you," she said. "Where you from?"

Not wanting to upset Mutt, at least not now, Sally played along with his ruse.
" I'm from these parts, actually, but I don't really call any place home just yet. I'm a nurse and I've been traveling around for a while, working in various hospitals as I see the nation. I was coming back to this area to settle down when the tornados his. I was lucky enough to meet up with these guys and they let me whether the storm down here."
Sally looks into Katarina's eyes as she talks. Looking for any hint or signs from her.

[Mr. Handy]

In the shower room-
"I happy you here, Sally," said Katarina. "Is good to talk to you. You break leg in storm?" When Sally looked into her eyes, Katarina gave back a semi-vacant stare. Katarina couldn't tell much about the nurse as they walked along to the next room.

In the radar control room-
The small group continued through the control room on its way to the elevator. Katarina looked at the ancient, dormant machinery in wonder.

OOC: How many men had Sally seen up here? Can you remind me about the hatch that could be closed from up here only?

OOC,So far [b]Sally[/b] has met [b]Doc[/b], [b]Hitch[/b], and [b]Mutt[/b], all of whom are with her, as well as [b]Jeff[/b] (who stayed behind). [b]Spike[/b] was sent up top a while ago, and [b]Nitro[/b] is currently stationed in the hallway on the bottom level. The hatch is currently open and is in the next room, and it is designed to cover the elevator shaft's opening, so it's pretty big. It is somewhat like a submarine hatch, with a wheel that can be turned to open it. It can only be opened or closed from above. It has quarantine markings on it and a window made of bulletproof glass. There is a full description of it toward the end of The Lion's Den.

OOC,I didn't get a Psychology roll from you, so I went ahead and rolled for you.

In the radar control room-
Sally looked over Katarina carefully as they walked and talked, but she couldn't figure her out. She followed the skinheads through the open metal door and into the hatch chamber.

"Deadeye and Ghost," came Jeff's voice from Mutt's radio, "sorry to interrupt your dinner, but I need you in the guard room now!"

In the upper hatch chamber-
The chamber was exactly as it had been when Sally had left it. The door to the generator room was still closed, the elevator was still in place, flush with the floor, and the hatch was still open. Doc and Mutt carried the table bearing Hitch onto the elevator, taking up most of the available space. Katarina stepped on with them, and she was skinny enough that there was still room for Sally. "Let me help you, Sally," she said. offering her a hand.
