Z-Day - 4:13 PM Central Time - Brooks High School, Omaha, Nebraska
In the boys' bathroom, ground floor-
The boys' bathroom on the ground floor of Brooks High was nothing special. There were toilet stalls, sinks, and urinals. Various graffiti were scrawled on the inside of the stalls. Keith Stewart and Miguel Garcia had entered a couple of minutes apart, as they often did when conducting business. Nobody else was present, so they were free to discuss whatever they liked. The only exit led back to the central hall.

Keith Stewart:
"Hows it goin' Miguel?"
"Look, (while we are alone), the Rasta Gang are encroaching here at Brooks High, I need someone else to help in my operations; want more mula?"

In the boys' bathroom, ground floor-
"Who doesn't, man?" said Miguel, grinning. "What do you want me to do?"

The fluorescent lights overhead flickered briefly. They had done that several times before, when the dead touched the electric fence. It was getting more frequent as time went by.

Keith Stewart

"Once this shitty mess has blown over there is gonna be a lot of people wanting to forget it all and relax. This is where we profit. And I'll need a loyal right-hand-man .....you Miguel! I'll need help handling the merchandise and collecting the cash."
Is Miguel convinced?

In the boys' bathroom, ground floor-
"You can count on me, buddy," said Miguel. "I just hope our supply chain is still intact after all this."

Keith Stewart

"I knew I could rely on you Miguel, stick by me through all this, after you are gonna be a rich kid!"

In the boys' bathroom, ground floor-
"We both are," said Miguel with a big smile. "I think the first thing we need to do is increase our inventory. The more we've got, the more money we can make."

While they were talking, the lights flickered again and went out. This had happened before once nearly an hour ago, but they had come back on almost immediately. As the seconds passed, they realized that this time they were staying out. Fortunately it was still daylight for a few more hours, so visibility wasn't a problem, but now there was no power to the electric fence. The generator in the basement, which could be reached by the north stairwell, had to have failed.

Keith Stewart,[b]Keith[/b], roll Listen.

Keith held his hand up, palm facing to Miguel, "Listen, hear that?" he said. After a moment Keith relaxed, "No, nothing."

Mr Handy,Does Keith have his Beretta?

In the boys' bathroom, ground floor-
The bathroom had no windows, so the only light was what was coming in from under the door to the hall, and that was just ambient sunlight coming from the building's lobby.

Miguel merely shrugged. "So, what should we do now?" he asked. "Maybe we ought to go out and see what's happening."

Keith tried listening again, not a sound. All clear Miguel, okay lets go out.

Keith and Miguel left through the door into the hall.
