IC-OVER-Middle of Nowhere(Jack/Emily/Lauren/Flynn/Kyle)

"Once Jack and Flynn get back, we should see if we can get in contact with the comm center using the CB radio in the RV. It would be best if we could make sure they have not been overrun before make the dangerous journy out there." As Emily speaks, she surveys the home; taking stock of any defenses erected by the Lloyd and his son.

[Mr. Handy]

(That's okay, don't worry about it.)

At the farmhouse-
"Do you know what frequency they use?" asked Lloyd as he followed Emily inside. "If you don't know the right one, it'll be mighty hard to get in touch with them." He closed the back door behind them, locked it and barred it. Kyle helped him slide a china cabinet in front of the door to block it off. Emily noticed that the front door was similarly barricaded with a set of bookshelves, and all of the windows were boarded up from the inside. The defenses looked pretty solid.

Suddenly, there was a loud noise from behind the farmhouse, a smash accompanied by splintering wood. Yet the back door remained untouched.

"What the hell was that?! Lauren, where are you?"

[Mr. Handy]

(Lauren is with you, in the kitchen of the farmhouse. I'll wait to give her player a chance to post before updating.)

In the farmhouse-
Alvarez heard Jack's voice on the radio: "Alvarez! Alvarez! Is that you approaching?! Copy?"

[Mr Zombie killer]

Alvarez said on the radio,
"No I am in the farmhouse down the road. Flynn was driving toward you."

[Mr. Handy]

"Waitaminute," Jack replied to Alvarez, "you're still at the farmhouse? Why? Is Harry coming by himself? Why didn't you tell me he was on his way? Is everything OK? Where are my girls?"

[Mr Zombie killer]

Alvarez replied, "I tried to come with him but he wanted to come by himself. Everything is fine. I should have let you known he was coming. The girls are with me. We are going to stay the night here since there is no real reason with Gardner dead to dash in darkness for a base."

Lauren squealed then grabbed Kyle's arm. "Just when i was ready to relax.'
(OOC: sorry about the wait i had a really busy weekend with rush and all.)

At the farmhouse-
Kyle stood between Lauren and the back door and puffed out his chest. "Don't worry, Lauren," he said. "I'll protect you."

Lloyd looked with alarm at the back door. "That sounded like it came from the storm cellar," he said.

"Do you think it's Ma?"

"I hope not. I don't know if those doors are gonna hold. I'd better go out and shore them up. Help me with the cabinet, son."

Kyle and Lloyd moved the cabinet aside. Lloyd opened the door and leaned outside, looking around. The storm cellar doors were badly damaged, with a massive hole in one of them. "Betty?" he asked. "Betty, it's me, Lloyd."

The doors were smashed wide open from beneath, and a woman in her forties with curly brown hair started to emerged. Her eyes were bright red, and she looked right at Lloyd. Though it disturbed him to see his wife like this, he kept his head.

(Nobody inside the house can see the zombie. If anyone goes outside, you'll need to roll Sanity. Sanity loss is 0/1d10. Alvarez has already lost 10 Sanity points for seeing zombies recently, so he does not need to roll.)

"Your wife? Oh god. She's been bitten, hasn't she?" Emily says in horror. 'She's infected. She's one of them now."
"Lauren go sit with Mr. Alvarez. Alvarez, get that gun ready. I don't like this." Emily says as she follows Llyod to the door, but does not go outside with him. Instead she watches him from the doorway.

[Mr. Handy]

At the farmhouse-
"Yeah, Ma got bit a few hours ago," said Kyle sadly. He also stood near the door. "She's real sick. We couldn't bear to kill her when it got real bad, so she told us to lock her up in the storm cellar 'til they can find a cure."

"From what we have seen, there is no cure. The only cure is a bullet to the head." Emily pleaded. "I understand you want to save her, but you cannot. She is not your mother any more and is one of those infected. She will try to kill us all."

[Mr. Handy]

Alvarez heard Jack speak on the radio: "Alvarez, can I talk to Emily or Lauren? Whoever is closest."

[Mr Zombie killer]

Alvarez said, "Uhh we are really busy. We think there is a zombie nearby. Can we get back to you?"

Lauren reached and grabbed the knife she had with her. She stood with her back to a wall. She heard muttering coming from Alvarez but paid more attention to the situation unraveling in front of her.

[Mr. Handy]

At the farmhouse-
"No," said Kyle, shaking his head. "Noooo...don't say that about Ma, it's not true! She told me she'd be all right."

Outside, Lloyd stepped closer to Betty, out of view of the open back door. "Betty, stop!" he said. "What are you doing? Stay back! Betty, it's me..." His undead wife ran toward him with her arms outstretched, but she stumbled and came up short. Lloyd ran back inside the house. "Kyle, the door!"

Kyle slammed the door shut and locked it. Then he helped his father move the cabinet back in front of it.

"Can't you see that's not your mother or wife anymore?! She's one of them. She'll kill you if she gets the chance. That's no way for her to go. You must do it. You must end her undeath. It's the only way. Then you can give her a proper burrial like she deserves." Emily pleaged.
(OOC: Can I roll psycology or persuage to get them to see my way?)

[Mr. Handy]

(Psychology will only help you understand a person and get a basic read on them. Psychoanalysis can snap someone out of temporary insanity, but Lloyd and Kyle are both relatively sane. There's no time for Persuade, as this is a combat situation. You could use Fast Talk, though the base skill is only 5% if it's not on your character sheet.)

Emily tried to get them to understand how dire the situation was, but they were not listening.
"Please, you must understand. That thing will destroy the house in an attempt to get in and will try and kill us all. That's not your family member any longer. She passed when that thing appeared. Don't let her do this to you. To us."
