IC-OVER-Middle of Nowhere(Jack/Emily/Lauren/Flynn/Kyle)

[Mr Zombie killer]

Alvarez sat up and cried out for whiskey. He then got on the radio and asked Jack what was going on.

[Mr. Handy]

On the road-
"Well, I'm going to keep going west if nobody has any better ideas," said Flynn. He started up the RV and drove straight through the intersection.

Alvarez heard no reply on the radio.

[ryansommer]

"We need to head west and eventually get on I-80 so we can make it to the comm center" Emily said. 'What's the range on your radios? We need to get ahold of Jack before we get too far away and end up leaving him back there."

[Mr. Handy]

On the road-
"It's got a range of about five miles, maybe ten, but that's pushing it," said Flynn. "That intersection we just passed was about a mile west of the farmhouse. Alvarez, any word from Jack yet?"

"Let's slow down and look for a farm house. The first one we see we should pull over and try to find fuel and get ahold of Jack."

"Why isn't dad responding? God dad. I hope he is alright." Lauren then looked to Alvarez. "I'm not sure we have any whiskey but i can try to find something to give you."

[Mr. Handy]

On the road-
Lauren went into the fridge. Inside was a six-pack of beer, and better still, a nearly full bottle of her dad's scotch. She brought it back to Alvarez, who still heard nothing on the radio.

"There's a farm over on the left," said Flynn. A dirt road branched off just ahead, about a quarter of a mile past the intersection. "Let's pull over and see what we can see."

Alvarez took a sip of the scotch and said, "No reply on the radio." He then saw something out the window.

On the road-
The farm to the left looked much like the one where Gardner had holed up, only this one was larger. It also had a gas pump next to its large barn. The windows were all shuttered and the garage door and barn door were closed, so it was impossible to see inside either the barn or the farmhouse.

Emily looked out the window and saw what Alvarez saw: "Excellent! Finally, a little bit of luck for once. Pull up there and lets see if we can't get some fuel. We should be careful, though. There are sure to be more of those things here."

At the farm-
Harry Flynn turned onto the dirt road and drove carefully around the side of the house, pulling over next to the gas pump. The farm appeared to be deserted. "I'll get out and start pumping," he said.

"I'll pump. You stand guard with your rifle and watch our backs"

[Mr. Handy]

On the road-
"Okay, good idea," said Flynn.

Alvarez heard Jack speak on the radio: "Alvarez, Jack here. Do you read me?"

[Mr. Handy]

At the farm-
Flynn got out of the vehicle and looked around, M-4 at the ready. "Okay, we're clear," he said. Emily got out and went over to inspect the pump. It was locked.

"Damn it! It's locked." Emily returns to the RV looking for the spare tire tool kit.

(OOC: Emily is looking for the spare tire and the took kit for jacking up the RV to change a tire that comes standard. Most of them have a lug wrench with a pry bar end for removing the hubs.)

At the farm-
Emily easily found the tool kit and pulled out the prybar. She returned to the pump to try to force the lock open while Flynn kept standing watch.

Emily tried to force the lock, but was unable to. "Flynn, can you give me a hand with this. The two of us together may be able to get it to break."

while waiting for her mom and Flynn to pry open the lock Lauren asked alvarez. "Anything on the radio? oh yea and hows that scotch treating you?"

[Mr. Handy]

At the farm-
Flynn nodded and approached the pump. He helped Emily grip the crowbar in an effort to break the lock.

Alvarez, aren't you going to answer Jack on the radio?)

Emily strains with all her might, but is unable to break the lock with Flynn's help. "God damn it!" Emily curses in utter frustration. "I'm freaking useless!" Calming down after a few deep breaths, she turns to the RV: "Lauren, can you come and see if you can help Flynn with this lock?"

Emily scans the area for any signs of trouble before moving towards the RV: "Flynn, I'll see if I can help Alvarez and get ahold of Jack while you and Lauren work the pump."
