Alexander Lozynsky and Nicolai Lebedev

For those who entered the city once broken in twain; When it turned its uncanny eye upon them; its breath did to them what their souls had done to it.

Time passes. The man looks quite anxious and natters at them in German a few times. Slowly, the nattering slows and the man seems listless. Hell, it's hard to keep one's focus in the rain. Watching it slip-slap-slip-slap against the slowly pooling road.... It's tiring just standing there, waiting. So much for the trip of a lifetime. So much for an exciting adventure. Slip-slap-slip-slap. Water trickles down your back, soaks your pants, pools in your shoes. It runs down your face and blots out the world around you so that you can only see the faint glow of a nearby streetlamp and the odd flash of headlights from moving cars. Slip-slap-slip-slap.... Almost like footsteps. Thousands of little footsteps. All marching their way onward.

It's hypnotic being out here. You're not sure how long you've stood there, moping, when a police car finally arrives. The Kriminalpolizei step out and start interrogating you two and the other man, barking out orders in incomprehensible German, looking around nervously, put at severe unease by the bleak, darkness, the omnipresent rain compressing the world around you, skies so thick with clouds it's hard to tell if it's day or night.

"Wer sind Sie? Wie ist Ihr Name? Können Sie verstehen, was ich sage?" the nearest Kriminalpolizei demands of Alexander.

The Kriminalpolizei nods and draws the two aside. "English? You englishman? Happen what?"

OOC: Forgive me, SuAside, for I don't know German grammar and how that'd tear apart English.

The Kriminalpolizei nods again and gestures down the road. "Phone there." He then crouches down by the corpse and starts speaking into his radio.

Nicolai can see the phone booth sitting in the corner, vaguely, now that he is looking for it. The storm clouds are ridiculously thick and dark, churning out sheets of rain that plaster his hair down against his scalp.
