Daniel walks alongside Sinclair and whispers to him: "There's a woman at the water cooler with an ID that doesn't belong to her. Face doesn't match. The jacket's too big too, and she could be armed."

[Laraqua]

Sinclair looks thoughtful and nods to the unspeaking man to the right of the foursome. The unnamed man keeps an eye on in her as Sinclair approaches the elevator and thumbs the button. The woman looks up and down the corridor in Daniel's direction. The unnamed bodyguard lets out his breath in a sigh at the same time. Everyone's vision blurs as though their eyes stop registering anything down that corridor. You can see the plain grey walls and navy blue carpet surrounding the gap. It's just the passageway itself that blanks out. When the vision hole fades, bringing the corridor back into view, the woman is looking impatiently at her watch and then back at her papers.

"I think it might be a good idea to detain and question her," whispers Daniel to Sinclair.

[Laraqua]

Sinclair gives a slight shake of the head. The elevator doors open and he gestures for the trio to enter before him. Natasha trembles and stumbles inside to lean up against the corner of the elevator. She's gone incredibly pale.

[Mr. Handy]

Daniel enters the elevator, reasoning that the security professionals must know what they're doing if they think it's better to let the woman continue doing whatever it is she's doing here.

[Laraqua]

Once everyone is inside, Sinclair presses the R1 button at the top of the columns. A young man rushes up to the elevator to step inside before it shuts, carrying a briefcase: "Hold the elevator!" Sinclair frowns at him and the unnamed bodyguard steps forward and gives the man a little shove to keep him from entering the elevator before the doors shut. The elevator then climbs steadily to the roof.

"We will let the police and the building's own security deal with that woman," said Sinclair. "There is the possibility that these fanatics may use extreme measures if they see a chance to strike you. An attempt has already been made on the Russian embassy and the Russian dig leader today in order to disrupt international relations. We believe their sole intention is to disrupt this expedition."

"Yes, I'm certain you're right," says Daniel. "That appears to be their motive, all right."

OOC,Have I heard before about these attacks on the Russian embassy and dig leader? I can't remember.

Abbo and Timothy step out in the corridor just as two women matching the description and three men step into the lift beside yours. Timothy hurries towards them: "Hold the elevator!" but is shoved back out by a rather mean-looking man with a buzz cut. The elevator climbs steadily up.

No, you haven't heard about those attacks. They're either very recent or have been kept very hush-hush. If they were on the news, Miss Chiang would have informed you. Also, roll a Know roll.

"I was not aware of these attacks on the Russians," says Daniel. "What can you tell us about them, and where did you hear it?" As he waits for a response, he recalls something.

[Laraqua]

"The attack on Mrs. Romashkova was averted. Two men, posing as police, attempted to force their way into the mansion where they were dining at the time. The security team on location dealt with them. The embassy attack was a rather poorly made explosive device in a suitcase that was found and deactivated before it could cause any trouble." Sinclair's lips pull taut in what could conceivably be called a smile. "I work for the government. My cover as your bodyguard is vital to this operation's success."

[Mr. Handy]

"Ah, thank you," says Daniel. "That explains a lot. I'm glad Mrs. Romashkova is all right."

[Laraqua]

Mr. Handy

Daniel recalls that he had seen the man before who had tried to get into the elevator is no less than the boom operator that was assigned to go on the expedition. The man that assists with the 'Hidden Places' documentary that Milly LeCrique stars in.

Timothy is ejected from the elevator.
Abbo says: "Ha! it looks as if we are not invited to the party. We'll wait for the elevator to come back down."

[Mr. Handy]

"That man who tried to get on the elevator is the boom operator for the expedition," says Daniel. "He could use protection too. He'll probably take the next elevator, so we may want to give him a chance to catch up."

[Laraqua]

Milly LeCrique blinks rapidly. "Timothy? I didn't even notice!"

Francesca looks at her incredulously. "He's your boom operator... I didn't notice because I was looking up at the time."

Sinclair scowls. "I haven't been given Timothy Wells' picture. Well, nothing for it now. We'll take you up to the helicopter and then I'll send..."

The elevator halts and opens to let a few other people on. Sinclair nods and gestures downward to the unnamed bodyguard shoves his way through, pushing the crowd back as Sinclair hits the Door-Close button.

Sinclair puts a finger to his ear. "Go down and collect them. Bring them to the helicopter if possible."

[Mr. Handy]

"Don't feel bad," Daniel says to Milly. "I only barely remembered myself, and by the time I did it was too late to let him on."

[Laraqua]

Carter

The elevator ascends upwards. The gentle Muzack fills the four walls with a soothing tune that is barely noticeable.

"I should probably be paying more attention, though, if things are really getting as bad as they appear," says Milly.

"You can apologise by buying him a drink," says Francesca. "I think we'll all need one by the time this is over."

Abbo Durer

"What the fuck was that for?" demands Timothy, rubbing his chest irritatedly. "I know they don't respect the camera crew, ever, but that's a little low..."

A woman in an ill-fitting suit (the jacket is far too large) turns in their direction. She arches an eyebrow and comes walking over to them, carrying a clipboard. There seems to be something off about her.

"Yeah," says Daniel, "and we all should pay closer attention to our surroundings."
