Milly LeCrique and Dr Magnus Urquhart

[Milly LeCrique]

Milly selects the cleanest towel she can find and takes it in to Magnus.

"Do you want this?" she asks, handing it to him. "I can't imagine how they slipped away without our noticing."

[Laraqua]

The other two seem to have slipped away in the space of under three seconds without making any noise or drawing any attention. It seems quite inexplicable. The song 'Sway' continues to come from the other bedroom.

[John Gaunt]

Taking the proffered towel, Magnus grunts a grudging "thanks". Struggling to his feet, he makes his way to the door. "Didja say the paramedics were on their way? I think I'll wait for them out front. This evening couldn't possibly get any stranger" he says as he casts a dubious glare about the squalid apartment.

[Laraqua]

The corridor is empty. The path to the elevator clear.

[Milly LeCrique]

"Wait," says Milly, "Don't you think we should wait here? I can't lock this door. It's a crime scene. And I don't want to run into that maniac again."

[John Gaunt]

Magnus whirls around and faces the attractive newcomer. "Whuzzat?! You saw him too? Wha' happened? "

[Milly LeCrique]

"Come back inside and I'll tell you," says Milly and, once Magnus is back in the apartment and the deadbolt thrown, she continues, "As I came into the lobby this strange guy in a black leather overcoat came down the stairs. He... uh, he stared at me and as I got into the elevator he rushed at me. I managed to knock him down and got the doors closed and came up here.

"Oh, God!" she blurts, "I left a cabdriver waiting in front. I hope nothing happened to him.

"And where the fuck are the emergency services people?! How long does it take to get someone to respond when you tell them there's been a murder and an ambulance is needed? Christ!"

[John Gaunt]

"Yeah, I punched that murderin' wank in the gob and sent im runnin'. Fer fucksake, if ya got a taxi out front why din we get the hell outta here?! I don't want to be involved in all this shite! If ya hant noticed, I gotta fookin' shiv stickin' outta me and it bloody well hurts! I'm dying of trauma here!"

[Laraqua]

Checking her watch, she realizes that only a minute and a half has passed since the phone call. It feels like so much longer.

[Milly LeCrique]

"That's why you should sit down and rest quietly until the EMT's arrive. Please, it can't be much longer now. I don't know if the taxi is still there or that the driver would let you in if it is.

"Gemma! Where the hell are you, you silly bitch! (...and why'd you get me mixed up in this mess.)"

[John Gaunt]

OOC: Are there any windows looking out over the street?

The bloodied Scotsman stands pat, uncertain of what to do: flee outright or heed the suggestions of this winsome newcomer?

There is a window that overlooks an alley between this building and the next. Rain slants down past the glass.

[John Gaunt]

Spinning on his heel, Magnus calls over his shoulder: "You're on yer own here, lassie. If ya know what's good fer ya, you'll get the hell outta here too, like Gemma and her idjit 'toy' already done."

With that said, Magnus cautiously moves toward the elevator.

[Laraqua]

The elevator is currently on the forth floor. It slowly starts coming back up after Magnus presses the button.

[Milly LeCrique]

"If my cab is still there, ask the driver to keep waiting," Milly calls after him, "Good luck!"

She closes the door and throws the deadbolt again.
