Sarah's Stumbling

Post by Laraqua »

Sarah awakens to the sensation of sliding along a smooth, cold surface. It's uncomfortable yet not altogether unpleasant. As her mind comes more fully aware, she feels her arms are dragging along the linoleum and her feet are lifted up off the floor. There's no light. Nothing. Everything is unbearably dark. The air itself feels heavy, grainy, and it sticks in her throat and makes her cough and she feels something gritty mingling with her saliva as it bubbles to her lips. She is in no physical pain. There are no scrapes or bumps or bruises although it is cold in a numbing sort of way.
Is it bad that I listen to this about ten times a day?

Sarah shivers and coughs, her mind a jumble. She has no memory of how she got here, and she is filled with fear and confusion. "What's going on?" she asks, her voice breaking."Who's there? Where am I?"

The figure doesn't respond, merely continues to drag her on down the corridor.

Panic seizes Sarah, her heart racing furiously. Oh, God, I'm being abducted! she thinks. Was I drugged? Is that why I can't remember how this happened? How is whoever's got me even seeing in the dark? Night vision goggles? It won't do any good to fight back, at least not yet. Even if I break free, I'll be lost in the dark. "Help!" she screams. "Somebody help me!"

Her assailant doesn't respond to her screams and, more frightening still, doesn't even bother to try to silence them. The figure simply continues to drag her along through the darkened depths of this strange place.

"No, let me go!" shrieks Sarah. "HELP!" She feels around desperately for something she can grab onto to stop herself from being dragged off.

Her fingers scrape the wall on one side.

A woman's voice calls out from further down the corridor: "Miss Sarah? Is that you? It's me, Agnes!"

Those names mean nothing to her.

Show,You have amnesia caused by Lovecraftian horrors. I imagine Sarah has pretty thick walls right about now. It would sound familiar, though, so it would make sense if you made that assumption ... or at least hoped it was you because that meant someone was searching for you.

OOC,Ah, I had thought from your earlier post that I had just lost my memory of everything that happened since this started.

"It's me!" calls Sarah as she is dragged along. "Help, I'm being kidnapped!" Now that she knows she isn't alone, she lashes out with her leg and strikes her abductor with a blow that isn't as powerful as she had hoped. She continues to scream so that this Agnes person can track her by the sound, considering how dark it is.

"I'm coming, just continue screaming to guide me!" shouts the woman's voice.

The figure dragging her seems unaffected by the blow and she feels cool air brush over her as she is dragged along. The figure pauses, reaches out, and she hears the sound of a door scraping open.

"I feel a breeze!" calls Sarah. "I'm being dragged through a door!" She keeps screaming her head off, and while her kidnapper is distracted by opening the door, she kicks out again, but she just barely misses due to the darkness.

The figure drags her onward, the door slamming shut behind her with a click. She feels herself dragged up steps, wrenching herself upright to protect her head, and is pulled onto a steel grille that isn't big enough for her to be length-wise on it. She has to fold up her legs to fit. The figure then releases her legs for a moment.

Sarah tries to slip off of the grille and make a run down the stairs and for the door, trying to evade any attempt to grab her again. She screams louder now that the door is closed in an effort to make sure she is heard - and because she's downright terrified.

Sarah struggles to her feet and is grabbed around the waist firmly. While her feet are on the top steps, the grille behind her begins to lower and she is jerked back by the man's - she's sure it is a man - iron grip.

OOC,I should get a chance to roll Dodge. I hadn't rolled it in my last post, since he might have missed, but my intention is clearly there.

Sarah squirms out of the man's grasp and scrambles down the stairs.

Show,You can't dodge what you can't see. Remember, it's pitch black in here. He seems to be able to see, but you cannot. Otherwise, you'd be absolutely right!
Sarah jerks out of his grip but, unfortunately, she's already been dragged onto the lowering grille. This shouldn't be much of a problem, however, she simply needs to clamber out (doubled Climb check).

OOC,There's also the chance to parry the Grapple with another Grapple, but that failed. You'd think making an 80% skill roll would be easy, but you'd be wrong.

Unable to break free before she is shoved back onto the grille, Sarah tries to scramble off of it, but she slips in the darkness. She is carried screaming down into the unknown.

"Sarah! We're coming!" screams a voice from outside the door as the lift lowers into nothingness. She hears the screech of steel against steel as something shuts overhead and then there's ... silence.

Sarah begins to weep, alone in this horrible, dark place and frightened to death. However, she refuses to give in to despair. She knows there are at least two people who know her and are trying to rescue her, but she can't just wait around to be rescued. She feels her clothes and goes through her pockets to see what personal possessions she has, hoping for a torch or a lighter or matches.
