Re: OOC: Chat

Hi there!! Yep, I have the unfortunate tendency to "go dark" from time to time. :( I would love nothing more than to pick this game back up. My only concern is that I don't have the time to commit to it. I think that I could probably swing it, but I'd hate to leave it hanging (again!)...

Re: The Resumption of The Condemned

Really? Hmmm. Dunno. I'm not sure how much motivation I have to do that, to be honest. I'll give it some thought, though, thanks for the advice.

Re: Mythos CCG

Not going to give this much longer. I'll start it probably by tomorrow if we don't get anyone else. I'll post here when it's begun! Still working on getting the threads up.

Re: The Resumption of The Condemned

Hah, sounds good! I'll give it a little thought. I think I'd rather you play either Greg or Mickey, but I've not decided yet. Probably Greg because I can write out Mickey's character a little easier if need be. I'm going to hold out for another player or two before getting this going in earnest, but...

Great thanks and welcome aboard! Is there anyone in particular you want? They're all up for grabs at the moment.

Re: The Resumption of The Condemned

Well none of the original players are back except Syrinx who is playing Racsee. Of the ones left I think Mickey (student), Gregory (attorney), and Albert (professor) are the ones I'm most interested in continuing. Even so the others are five as well. It's just those three were a little closer to the...

Re: The Resumption of The Condemned

Well you can probably get by pretty well by just reading the synopsis. Obviously you'd get more out of it if you read the rest, but I'd say it's not strictly necessary. Especially since we're hurting for players! :) Anyhow, give the synopsis a read and see what think!

Re: Mythos CCG

Thanks for the forum! No problem on the game. Just let me know if you change your mind. I certainly wouldn't mind playing the LCG but I think I only have two starter decks and have never actually played it, heh. So I wouldn't be much competition! I'll just wait a few more days for another Mythos pla...

Re: Mythos CCG

Okay thanks, Mr. Handy. How's this for a description: "Follow along as a group of investigators battle their own sanity as they encounter the Mythos! This is a play by post game of the Chaosium Mythos CCG." Not great, I guess. Maybe I can amend it later? :) If you want to play we can proba...

Re: Mythos CCG

I had forgotten that this deck worked with both scoring structures so it doesn't matter. For simplicity's sake let's just stick with regular points for now. Let's do 20 as that's the standard game. Sorry I brought it up. :)

Re: Mythos CCG

Well it doesn't actually change any rules, just the point values on adventures. No big deal, though, as my deck still works with the old point values so I'll just go with that.

Re: Mythos CCG

Okay great. I'm all set with my deck, too. It's a New Aeon/Waking World cross that sometimes works well, sometimes doesn't. :) Incidentally, the deck I'm using uses a newer "Repoint" system developed by a guy named Alex Broadhead. Basically we went through all the adventures in Mythos and ...

Re: Mythos CCG

Well I think we can start pretty much anytime. I think I need to petition an admin for a forum (I assume in the One Shot Theatre), so I'll work on that. In the meantime feel free to work on your deck, and I'll pick one out as well. Also, we can definitely have more players (in fact more would be goo...

Re: Mythos CCG

I think it works rather well. The combat rounds can sometimes drag if there's a lot going on but even then it's not too bad. Normal gameplay is simple though as you generally only play one card (though it is possible to play more than one) and there is no notion of "interrupts" as in Magic...

Mythos CCG

Anyone out there still have cards from the Mythos CCG? Not the more recent CoC one, but the Chaosium one from the 90's? If so, does anyone want to play a PBP game? I haven't played in a couple years but I used to play on a couple of email groups and it actually worked quite well. Basically players p...

The Story So Far

Here I'll give what I hope is a fairly good synopsis of "The Condemned" before it was closed due to (my) inactivity. Miskatonic University students Richard Cardigan and Henry Atwater went camping on the banks of the Miskatonic River on June 2, 1927. There was a terrible storm over the next...

Re: Clues, Maps, Documents, etc.

MURDER! It was with shock that one Georgia Smith telephoned the police early this morning and reported the murder of her employer Mrs. Nina Williams Hope. Ms. Smith arrived at the Hope house at 374 Curwen St to report to work this morning and found Mrs. Hope dead on the floor of her living room. Th...

Re: Clues, Maps, Documents, etc.

Bishop's Bridge Burns The covered bridge that once crossed the Miskatonic four miles upriver is no more. In the last week's thunderstorms, the aging structure was struck by lightning which burned the roof and most of the decking and timbers. Thought to have been built around 1750, only the central ...

The Resumption of The Condemned

Hey all, Back from a significant hiatus, I'm going to be working towards resuming "The Condemned". It's a classic-era adventure set in Arkham. Mr Handy was nice enough to move the old posts back into the active forums so anyone can now peruse it if they're interested. I'll also be working ...
